How to calculate ovulation period?

In order to get pregnant, the conditions for pregnancy must be met. First of all, you must have eggs and sperm of qualified quality. Among them, the development of the eggs is a very critical factor, and the eggs must be discharged according to a certain pattern to increase the chance of pregnancy. This is the grasp of the ovulation period. Most healthy women can roughly calculate their ovulation period. Let’s take a look at how to calculate the ovulation period.

Ovulation day is the day when the egg is released. Under normal menstruation conditions, a woman's ovulation period is counted from the first day of the next menstruation, and the ovulation day is 14-16 days counted down. The 5 days before and 4 days after the ovulation day are added together to form the ovulation period.

Here’s how:

1. Cervical mucus method: In the hospital gynecology department, the cervical mucus is checked to determine whether you are in the ovulation period.

It is common knowledge that secretions increase during ovulation, and I believe every woman knows this. This is because the cervix secretes a large amount of cervical mucus during ovulation.

2.Basal body temperature method:

The so-called basal body temperature refers to the body temperature when you wake up in the morning, your body remains quiet and your mood is calm. This method of measuring ovulation has a lag and requires a measurement process of 3-4 months. During the menstrual cycle, basal body temperature changes cyclically. The basal body temperature is lower after menstruation and during the follicular phase. After ovulation, the corpus luteum is formed in the ovary, and the progesterone produced acts on the hypothalamic temperature regulation center, causing the body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.5℃, which lasts until 1-2 days before menstruation or the first day of menstruation, when the body temperature returns to its original level. Since human body temperature can change due to a number of reasons, when measuring it, you must have a normal life routine, sleep for more than 6 hours a day, and the measurement time should be roughly the same every day. As the pace of life quickens, work and rest times become irregular, with an accuracy rate of around 60%.

3. Intermediate pain method (ovulation day pain): Some people feel pain in the lower abdomen in the middle of two menstrual periods, which is exactly the time before ovulation. This is called intermediate pain or ovulation pain. Experts have investigated and found that 97% of the pain in the middle is felt before ovulation. Therefore, if there is pain in the middle, it can be assumed that ovulation will occur within 24 hours. This method may be the easiest and simplest way for some people. The disadvantage is that only 15% of women experience middle pain and cannot use this method.
