Treatment of inverted nipples for girls_What to do if your daughter has inverted nipples

In fact, many girls will encounter the situation of inverted nipples in life. Generally, inverted nipples can be divided into three degrees. The most serious one is that the nipple is completely buried under the areola and cannot be squeezed out. The appearance of inverted nipples is actually very detrimental to the health of the breasts. It can easily lead to breast diseases such as areolar inflammation and mastitis. You must seek medical attention for examination and treatment in a timely manner.

According to the depth of nipple inversion, it can be divided into three degrees:

1. Partial nipple inversion, nipple neck exists, can be easily squeezed out, after squeezing out the nipple size is similar to that of normal people;

2. The second degree is that the nipple is completely inverted into the areola, but the nipple can be squeezed out by hand. The nipple is smaller than normal and most of the time there is no nipple neck;

3. The third degree is that the nipple is completely buried under the areola and the inverted nipple cannot be squeezed out.

Inverted nipples can easily cause diseases such as nipple and areola inflammation and mastitis. Severe inverted nipples can lead to mucosalization of the inverted skin accompanied by eczema. Bleeding and erosion may occur, leading to chronic inflammation. The mammary ducts are connected to the inverted area, and the inflammation can spread retrogradely into the mammary gland, causing mastitis. If nipple inversion is not corrected in time, long-term inflammation will cause the mammary ducts to shrink due to chronic inflammation, making nipple inversion more serious and easily forming a vicious circle.

Inverted nipples seriously affect breastfeeding. Whether the nipples are flat or inverted, they will inevitably affect the baby's sucking, making breastfeeding difficult or even impossible after delivery. On the other hand, milk accumulation due to the inability to discharge milk may cause secondary breast infection.

What to do if a teenage girl has inverted nipples

A normal nipple is cylindrical, protruding about 1.5-2 cm from the plane of the breast and appearing like a nodule. If the nipple is not higher than the breast skin and does not protrude when pulled, it is called an inverted nipple. Although this disease has no direct impact on marriage, it can affect the emotional communication and life of couples. It also makes breastfeeding after childbirth inconvenient and can easily lead to local inflammation and eczema. In severe cases, it can cause mammary duct ectasia. Therefore, inverted nipples should be corrected in time during adolescence. First go to the hospital for a check-up to confirm that it is not breast inflammation or other diseases, and then try self-treatment methods:

First, you can pull out the inverted nipple in the breast with your hands and fix it for a while. If this method does not work well, you can try syringe suction. Prepare a pair of 10 ml plastic syringes, remove the outer shell of the front end of the syringe; pull out the needle core, turn the syringe upside down, and align the opening at the rear end of the syringe shell with the inverted nipple; then insert the needle core from the cut part of the front end of the syringe, gently aspirate, use the negative pressure of the syringe to suck out the inverted nipple, and fix it for 5-6 minutes; 1-2 times a day.

Other treatments for inverted nipples

Female friends should not be reluctant to choose treatment methods because of shyness. In fact, this idea is wrong. Female friends should still seek medical treatment in time to choose treatment methods to improve inverted nipples.

1. Manual traction: squeeze the nipple out of the skin by yourself, pinch the nipple horizontally or vertically with your thumb and index finger, and pull the nipple outward continuously or intermittently, each time for about thirty minutes, alternating between the nipples on both sides. 3-5 times a day. Mechanical traction: that is, through a manual or electric breast pump, using the principle of negative pressure, the nipple is sucked out. The nipple can also be sucked and pulled continuously or intermittently, for thirty minutes each time, alternating between the two sides, 3-5 times a day. The above two correction methods can achieve better results after two months.

2. Surgical correction: Irreversible nipple inversion, that is, severe nipple inversion, can only be corrected through surgery. The surgery is performed by completely loosening the muscle fiber bundles that pull the nipple inward, filling the surrounding tissue under the nipple to enhance the support of the nipple, make the nipple protrude, and reshape it. The operation is usually performed under local anesthesia. There are many different surgical procedures, which can be selected according to the specific situation. The operation is performed within the areola. The operation is minor and will not leave obvious surgical scars. Under normal circumstances, the sensory nerves of the nipple will not be damaged, so the normal sensation of the nipple will not be hindered after the operation. The surgery generally does not damage the milk ducts, so it will not cause lactation problems.

Of course, inverted nipples should be treated in a regular hospital, but female friends with inverted nipples must know that these treatments may still lead to recurrence, so postoperative care is very important for female friends with inverted nipples. You can also choose some methods to consolidate the therapeutic effect and prevent recurrence.
