How often should ovulation test strips be tested?

During a month, the female body can be divided into the ovulation period and the safe period. The ovulation period mainly refers to the rupture of the female ovarian follicle. At this time, the egg will be discharged and the female's chance of pregnancy will greatly increase. If you can use ovulation test strips, you can detect whether a woman's ovaries have released eggs, which can also increase the chances of successful pregnancy preparation. But when using ovulation test strips, how many hours do you need to test again?

Under normal circumstances, a woman ovulates about 14 days before the start of the next menstruation. However, due to external and internal factors, the human body may not ovulate at a fixed time, and may ovulate earlier or later. Therefore, ovulation should be tested a few days in advance. Generally, it should start one week after menstruation and test once a day with ovulation test strips.

The instructions for different ovulation test strips may vary slightly, but in general it is best to use urine from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the best time being between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Avoid testing your urine right after waking up in the morning, as you may miss the first day of your LH surge. Also don't drink too much fluid in the two hours before the test.

In addition, because the LH hormone is changing, the time when it reaches its peak is not fixed. Therefore, when the test is weak positive and close to positive, if you test it once a day, you may miss the peak time and don’t know the time of ovulation. Therefore, it is best to test twice a day (once every 6 hours or so).

If you find that the color is getting darker, you should test it more often, once every 3-4 hours. When you see the color getting darker, or even suddenly getting lighter, ovulation is about to begin.

To sum up: start testing ovulation one week after menstruation and continue until ovulation is confirmed, that is, when the test shows a weak positive turning to positive, test twice a day. When it shows a strong positive, test every 4 hours to determine the time of ovulation.
