A lot of vaginal discharge during ovulation

Healthy leucorrhea indicates whether the functions of women's body organs are healthy, so the texture, color and changes of leucorrhea can determine what stage the body is currently in. In order to ensure that it will not affect menstruation, ovulation and normal reproductive function in the future, if there is a lot of leucorrhea during the ovulation period, you should check carefully to see if it is an abnormal manifestation. In addition, it is not ruled out that it is related to personal constitution.

Is it normal to have more vaginal discharge during ovulation?

Generally speaking, it is normal to have more vaginal discharge during ovulation. Women should wash it with clean water and keep the area dry after washing. Just pay attention to personal hygiene, wash the vulva with warm water every day and keep the vulva clean. Avoid using medication to clean the vagina on your own, as this may damage the pH value of the vagina and reduce immunity, leading to vaginitis.

The main component of leucorrhea is cervical mucus, which is controlled by hormones secreted by the ovaries. In the first half of the menstrual cycle, that is, before ovulation, the amount gradually increases and becomes thinner and more translucent, causing the lower body, which has been relatively dry after menstruation, to gradually become moist. When the ovulation period comes, the secretion of leucorrhea reaches its peak, the amount of cervical mucus is the largest, and the toughness is the greatest. Thin strips of leucorrhea often flow out, which can sometimes be as long as more than ten centimeters (i.e., thread-like). At this time, the woman's lower body is the wettest.

When the above-mentioned strip-like leucorrhea flows out, there will be a greasy feeling. This large amount of cervical mucus secretion during ovulation can last for about 2-3 days, which is when women feel the most moist.

Generally speaking, before ovulation, due to the increase in estrogen levels in the body, the epithelial cells of the cervical glands are stimulated to proliferate, the secretion of cervical mucus increases, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus increases, which can absorb more water, causing the amount of leucorrhea to increase during ovulation, and the texture is thin, clear, and looks like egg white, which can be stretched into long threads. After ovulation, estrogen levels gradually decrease, progesterone levels increase, the secretion of cervical mucus is inhibited, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus also decreases, making the leucorrhea at this time thick, milky white, with poor ductility, and easy to break when drawn.
