Factors that affect hcg values

The early pregnancy stage is the most dangerous stage during pregnancy, because the baby's fetal image is not particularly stable during this period and the chance of miscarriage is very high. And in the early stages of pregnancy, doctors mainly infer the baby's health based on the hcg value in the pregnant woman's body. Regardless of the level of the hcg value, it can effectively reflect the healthy growth of the baby. But what are the factors that affect the hcg value in pregnant women?

1. Factors affecting early pregnancy hcg values

1. Under normal circumstances, trophoblast cells secrete the hormone HcG after pregnancy. This value will definitely increase and gradually increase with the increase of gestational weeks. Generally, it will gradually decrease after 8-10 weeks. Gestational trophoblastic tumor and hydatidiform mole can also cause elevated blood HCG levels.

2. Normal range of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG): Serum: less than 5U/L for males and females (non-pregnant). Pregnant women: 5-50 U/L within 1 week of pregnancy, 50-500 U/L within 2 weeks of pregnancy, 100-1000 U/L within 3 weeks of pregnancy, 3500-115000 U/L within 4 weeks of pregnancy. Human chorionic gonadotropin is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the placenta. It is seen in normal pregnancy, early pregnancy, choriocarcinoma, hydatidiform mole, ectopic pregnancy, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular tumors, gastric cancer, and liver cancer.

2. The role of HCG

The synergistic effect of HCG and progesterone allows the embryo to obtain nutrients on the one hand, and ensures the safety of the embryo on the other hand, so neither is indispensable. If HCG doubling is not done well, the embryo may be developmentally delayed or even stop growing due to lack of nutrients. If progesterone is insufficient, the embryo will have unstable implantation, causing bleeding or even miscarriage. Therefore, if the above problems are found during examination in the hospital, in addition to taking medicine, rest is very important. Resting can prevent blood flow from being distributed to the limbs as much as possible, and the blood flow to the uterus will increase, ensuring the nutrition of the fetus.

The above is the relevant knowledge about HCG. Its physiological effect on pregnant women is quite obvious. Generally, it will increase significantly in the early stages of pregnancy. It also promotes the production of progesterone. Generally, it will slowly decrease after a period of time. It is good for implantation and can also ensure the nutrition of the baby.
