Pregnancy compresses the bladder

Pregnancy compresses the bladder

A woman's body will undergo many changes during pregnancy. This is mainly because the hormone levels in the body change significantly after pregnancy. At this time, women will have a variety of different pregnancy reactions. Since everyone's physical constitution is different, everyone's performance is also different. Especially when women reach the late stage of pregnancy, bladder compression will occur, which will have a serious impact on the life of the pregnant woman.

What to do if pregnancy puts pressure on the bladder

1. Bladder pressure, which is a phenomenon that most women will experience during pregnancy. Many women like to drink water during pregnancy, which will cause more amniotic fluid. When there is more amniotic fluid, it will put pressure on the bladder, and the body's urine storage capacity will decrease, so there will be obvious symptoms of frequent urination and urgency.

2. Secondly, as the fetus gradually develops, the uterus will gradually expand, and the uterus will exert a certain pressure on the bladder, resulting in a decrease in the bladder's storage capacity and symptoms of frequent urination. In the first three months of pregnancy and the last three months of pregnancy, women's symptoms of frequent urination will become very serious, but don't be too anxious, especially before going to bed at night, try not to drink too much water, so as not to affect your sleep quality.

3. If you feel pressure in your bladder, it is recommended that you pay attention to your evening diet, do not drink too much soup, and drink less water. Many women like to drink a glass of milk at night during pregnancy. It is recommended that you do not drink too much milk at this time. You can choose to drink milk in the morning.

Body changes after pregnancy

1. Bones become soft

Estrogen and relaxin relax ligaments throughout the body, including those in the back. Back pain occurs due to overstretching of the muscles and joints in the lower back.

Ways to help your body: Bend your knees when picking up things to avoid sprains.

2. Lower limb edema

During pregnancy, the amount of water in the body increases and the amount of excretion also increases accordingly, which generally does not cause edema. However, for some pregnant women in the late stages of pregnancy, the enlarged uterus compresses the inferior vena cava, which obstructs blood return to the lower limbs and increases the venous pressure in the lower limbs, which may cause mild lower limb edema.

Ways to help your body: Get enough rest and avoid standing for long periods of time. Lie on your side when sleeping with your lower limbs slightly elevated.

3. Stretch marks

The collagen fibers in the skin of pregnant women become very fragile due to hormonal disorders, while the baby in the belly is constantly developing, the skin tissue is overstretched, the elastic fibers gradually break, and the color of the subcutaneous blood vessels shows through to form stretch marks. Some people's stretch marks will disappear after giving birth, but some people's may not disappear.

Ways to help your body: Use anti-stretch mark lotion to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

4. Varicose veins

After pregnancy, the uterus enlarges and compresses the inferior vena cava, causing blood stasis in the pelvis and lower limbs and increased venous pressure. Coupled with endocrine changes during pregnancy, the tension of venous smooth muscle decreases, causing the veins of the vulva or lower limbs to become filled and tortuous, forming varicose veins.

Ways to help the body: Pregnant women with varicose veins should avoid standing for long periods of time. When varicose veins are severe, the affected limb can be bandaged from bottom to top. People with varicose veins in the vulva can raise their hips while sleeping.

5. Frequent urination

The uterus is located in the center of the pelvic cavity, with the bladder in front and the rectum behind. After pregnancy, the enlarged uterus presses on the bladder, reducing its capacity and causing more urination. Under normal circumstances, the human body urinates about once every 4 hours. However, during pregnancy, the uterus gradually increases in size, especially within 3 months. The pregnant uterus has not yet extended beyond the pelvic cavity and occupies most of the position in the pelvic cavity, directly compressing the bladder and causing an increase in the frequency of urination. After 4 months of pregnancy, when the uterus rises beyond the pelvic cavity and reaches the lower abdomen, the pressure on the bladder ends and the symptoms are relieved. In late pregnancy, the fetal head enters the pelvis, which may compress the bladder again and cause frequent urination.
