How big is the uterus at 14 weeks of pregnancy?

At 14 weeks of pregnancy, the uterus soon rises out of the pelvis and can usually touch the fundus of the uterus above the ischial tuberosity. Generally, the height of the fundus of the uterus at 14 weeks of pregnancy is about 3 horizontal fingers above the ischial tuberosity, and the uterus will drop to 4-5 cm below the navel at 14 weeks of pregnancy. The uterus is the organ that causes menstruation and creates the fetus. It is located in the center of the pelvis, between the bladder and duodenum. The size of the uterus is related to age and fertility.

What to do at 14 weeks of pregnancy

1.NT inspection

The NT test is performed when the pregnant woman is around 11 to 14 weeks pregnant. It is the first B-ultrasound test to rule out fetal malformation. The B-ultrasound is used to check the thickness of the fetal nuchal translucency. If the thickness exceeds the normal range, the chances of postnatal complications such as chromosomal problems and heart problems are relatively high.

2. Down syndrome screening

Down screening test is the general name for prenatal selection test for Down syndrome. It is a test method that extracts blood cells from pregnant women, tests the concentrations of alpha-fetoprotein, human chorionic gonadotropin and free estriol in the pregnant women's blood cells, and calculates the risk of giving birth to a baby with congenital defects based on the pregnant woman's due date, weight, age and weeks of pregnancy when blood was drawn.

3. Routine physical examination

At 14 weeks of pregnancy, you also need to check blood routine, urine routine, blood sugar level, B-ultrasound, electrocardiogram, blood pressure, etc.

The 14th week of pregnancy has already entered the middle stage of pregnancy. At this time, the size of the uterus varies from person to person, and there is no fixed standard. If the pregnant woman does not feel any discomfort, then she does not need to think too much. At this time, some tests are also necessary, such as NT examination and Down syndrome screening. It is recommended that pregnant women go to the hospital as soon as possible to carry out these tests.
