Diagram of the position of the uterus during pregnancy

From the beginning of life, the combination of sperm and egg, the fetus will become a member of human society after 10 months of growth and development in the mother's womb. Mother will spend a happy and unforgettable October for the birth of a new life. The development of the baby in a pregnant woman’s body is clear at a glance. The difficulty and hardship of being a mother is something that a woman who has not been a mother cannot understand! Let’s take a look at the developmental stages of the baby during the 10th month of pregnancy!

Fetal growth process

1

First month of pregnancy

The first month of pregnancy refers to the time within four weeks from the first day of the expected delivery date.

Physiological characteristics:

If the pregnant woman's menstrual cycle is 28-30 days, sperm and egg will be produced on the second Sunday of pregnancy. About 4 days after fertilization, the sperm and eggs that have broken down into a mass of somatic cells travel along the bilateral fallopian tubes to the uterus. In the third week, the somatic cell mass sheds its outer membrane in preparation for embryo implantation. In the fourth week, the embryo has been firmly implanted in the uterus.

The period from the third month of pregnancy to the first four weeks of pregnancy is called the embryonic bud and fetal heart rate period. The embryonic bud and fetal heart are 0.5-1 cm in size and look like a small seahorse.

Pregnant women should pay attention to:

Most pregnant women do not experience any symptoms in the first month of pregnancy. The first month is the stage when neural tube defects, limbs, and eyes begin to divide. At this time, if these tissues and organs are exposed to harmful substances, the cells will stop growing and develop, resulting in defects.

Avoid going to theaters, karaoke bars, shops and other crowded places to avoid contact with patients with influenza, rubella, infectious hepatitis, etc. Avoid taking medication if possible. Viral infections and medications may affect your baby's growth and development.

To prevent electromagnetic radiation, keep a certain distance when listening to speakers or watching TV series. Try to avoid using computers, microwave ovens, mobile phones, etc. Pregnant women should not sleep with electric blankets when the radiator has just been turned off, because it can generate magnetic fields that are harmful to pregnant women and fetuses.

Avoid drinking strong tea, coffee and cola-type drinks. The most ideal drink for pregnant women is warm water.

When washing clothes, you should use soap instead of soap powder; when washing dishes, you should use detergent without harmful substances.

You must wash and disinfect your hands after cutting raw beef, mutton, fish, etc. When cooking, eating hot pot meat, etc., make sure the meat is fried and rinsed thoroughly. Prevent the fetus from being infected by Toxoplasma gondii in raw beef, mutton, fish, etc.

When washing rice or dishes, do not put your hands in cold water directly as the cold stimulation may cause miscarriage. If you don't have an electric water heater at home, you should buy a few pairs of rubber gloves.

The baby does not need a lot of nutrients in the first month of pregnancy. But from now on, you must develop a good diet structure, not be picky about food, and maintain a balanced nutrition.

Special reminder:

Continue to supplement folic acid tablets under the guidance of a doctor, which will protect the sperm and egg combination from abnormalities to the greatest extent.

2

Second month of pregnancy

Physiological characteristics:

In the second month of pregnancy (5-8 weeks), the embryo bud grows into a test tube embryo. The embryo has a body and a "tail", with recognizable eyes and small ridges on its hands and feet, which are the future fingers and toes. This month is the period of division and development of most of the fetus' organs, so it is also called the embryo organ development period.

Neural tube defects slowly develop in test tube embryos during the fifth week of pregnancy. This neural tube defect will grow into the brain and spine.

At around 7 weeks of pregnancy, the baby is 2-3 cm long and weighs about 4 grams. The baby has already grown hands and feet, eyes, ears, and mouth, and the face is basically recognizable as a human. Pregnant women should pay attention to:

After the 5th week, the test tube embryos enter the stage of organ division and are more susceptible to genes, so it is particularly important to avoid viral infections, harmful chemicals and radiation.
