Why can IUD be used for contraception?

I believe everyone knows that the practice of IUD insertion can have a contraceptive effect, but how does it work? The main reason is that IUD insertion can prevent the fertilized egg or blastocyst from implanting, and you should not have sexual intercourse within one month after the IUD is inserted, otherwise it will affect the effect of the IUD and cause gynecological diseases in women. It is recommended that female friends should understand the precautions after the IUD insertion to avoid the impact of the IUD on the uterus.

The principle of contraception is that the ring affects the implantation of the fertilized egg or blastocyst, making it impossible for the fertilized egg or blastocyst to implant. It is best to have sex one month after the ring is inserted. Regarding the issue of pain, during the placement of the ring, when the contraceptive ring passes through the cervical opening, it may cause a sour and swollen feeling due to the dilation of the cervical canal, but the actual placement process only takes a few seconds to complete, so there is no need to worry too much. However, having an IUD inserted is not a permanent solution. There are still some women who get pregnant after having it inserted. This is mainly because the IUD does not match the size and shape of the uterine cavity, or because the material does not have enough support, and the contraction of the uterus expels it from the body. Therefore, it is very important to choose the right model when inserting an IUD! However, unmarried women are generally not recommended to have an IUD inserted! ~ Because the contraceptive ring is deformed, twisted, or abnormally positioned, it can become embedded in the uterine wall, causing increased bleeding or dysmenorrhea. If the endometrium is very fragile, bacteria or viruses may be introduced into the uterine cavity during IUD insertion, or if care is not taken after IUD insertion, it may easily cause uterine cavity infection, excessive bleeding, prolonged menstruation, and dysmenorrhea. However, if the IUD is inserted in a regular hospital, this situation rarely occurs.

If you really need an IUD, here are the things to pay attention to:

1. Do not do heavy physical labor within one week, avoid adding abdominal pressure, and avoid sexual intercourse and tub bathing within two weeks.

2. Keep the vulva clean, wash it every day, and change underwear frequently.

3. You should receive follow-up visits from medical staff during the first menstruation after the insertion of the IUD and at the 3rd, 6th and 12th months after the insertion, and have 1-2 check-ups each year thereafter.

4. After the IUD is inserted, a small amount of vaginal bleeding, back pain, lower abdominal distension and pain may occur. Mild cases can be left untreated. Severe symptoms such as bleeding exceeding the menstrual volume should be diagnosed and treated in time. If you find that the uterus is prolapsed or you have any pregnancy symptoms, you should go to the family planning service center or hospital for examination in time.

5. All kinds of rings have a certain service life. T copper rings are 8-10 years, mother rings are 5 years, and copper palace rings are more than 10 years. When the IUD you have installed has reached its service life, you should replace it under the guidance of your doctor, or use other contraceptive methods. Within 3-7 days after menstruation ends.

6. Older women should contact medical staff within six months to one year after their menstruation stops and have the IUD removed in time.
