Coagulation function test in pregnant women

Coagulation function test in pregnant women

Pregnant women need to do prenatal checkups on time because the fetus in the body needs to be tested and examined at any time. If any situation occurs, rescue can be provided in time. Sometimes problems with the pregnant woman herself may be discovered, such as poor blood circulation. Pregnant women are in a very critical period, so they should pay attention to protecting their own health. What is the coagulation function test for pregnant women?

1. What is the blood coagulation test for pregnant women?

Pregnancy may cause changes in coagulation function. Some people's coagulation function will be reduced, which may lead to the risk of bleeding, while others' coagulation function will be enhanced, which may lead to the risk of thrombosis. Therefore, genetic testing should be performed on pregnant women to ensure safety. Measuring coagulation function is also a guarantee for the safety of pregnant women themselves.

2. Items of blood coagulation examination for pregnant women

1. The first one is the prothrombin time test. This thrombin assay is a screening test used to reflect the function of the extrinsic coagulation system. Clinically, this assay is often used to monitor coagulation function after oral anticoagulants. An abnormal PT value is 5 seconds greater than normal.

2. The second is the test for fibrinogen. It is well known that increased fibrinogen (FIB) content is an important risk factor for thrombotic diseases. Its monitoring is of great significance and can help in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, tumors and other diseases. Increased fibrinogen is more common in cases of infection (such as uremia, pneumonia, mild hepatitis, etc.), surgery, radiotherapy, menstruation, pregnancy, etc.

3. The third one is the detection of activated partial thromboplastin time. Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) is another screening test used to reflect the overall coagulation status of each coagulation factor of the intrinsic coagulation system. Prolonged APTT is more common in cases of hemophilia A and B and factor XI deficiency. A shortened APTT is more common in cases of increased activity of factors VIII and V, as well as in DIC, thrombocythemia, etc.
