Why does a pregnant woman vomit in the afternoon?

Generally, pregnant women often have some pregnancy reactions after pregnancy, and the most obvious pregnancy reactions are nausea, vomiting, and drowsiness. Most morning sickness symptoms are most obvious within ten weeks, and the reaction is also extremely strong, which is likely to affect normal eating. When pregnant women vomit in the afternoon, it depends on whether they are not used to eating or eating too much at noon. Pay attention to eating small meals and do some preventive work.

If a pregnant woman vomits, this is a normal symptom of pregnancy, that is, morning sickness symptoms begin to increase at 6 to 8 weeks, and 8 to 10 weeks is the peak. Of course, this is the case for most people. They only have mild nausea and vomiting. They will feel nauseous after smelling greasy food, or the smell of oil, or the taste of other foods. Everything else is normal. At this stage, for this nausea and vomiting, you can choose vitamin B6, and you can eat small meals frequently to control and recover, especially vitamin B6. For this kind of nausea, vomiting, and morning sickness symptoms, it is the most effective, and it is also the safest clinically to use. Eat less greasy, raw, cold, and spicy food. It is mainly related to the increase of progesterone and human chorionic gonadotropin, and the human body cannot adapt to it all at once.

Most women experience nausea and vomiting within 1 to 3 months after becoming pregnant, especially in the early morning or evening, when they are prone to mild vomiting. Some women may also experience severe vomiting, which is called "pregnancy reaction." Many people believe that pregnant women can prevent nausea and vomiting by not eating or eating less. Some pregnant women do not want to eat for fear of vomiting. In fact, not eating not only fails to alleviate vomiting, but also causes pregnant women to lack nutrition, which is not good for both mother and baby.

Nausea and vomiting in pregnant women are mainly caused by the stimulation of increased estrogen on the smooth muscles in the gastrointestinal tract. Mild nausea and vomiting does not require treatment, and there is no need to fast or eat less. On the contrary, if you eat more food, you will feel better. It is best to eat 6 meals a day, eat small meals frequently, prepare some biscuits and eat them at any time, and it is better to drink a glass of milk in the morning. After eating, rest in bed for 20 to 30 minutes. If you feel nauseous, eat a few biscuits and the nausea will feel better.

Prognosis

1. Although some experts and scholars believe that hyperemesis gravidarum may lead to intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), the vast majority of studies to date have concluded that women with hyperemesis gravidarum do not have an increased chance of having their fetuses develop IUGR, and their perinatal outcomes are no statistically different from those without hyperemesis gravidarum. Eliakim et al. also concluded from their search of English literature from 1996 to 2000 that hyperemesis gravidarum does not affect perinatal outcomes.

2. Hyperemesis gravidarum refers to a small number of patients whose nausea and vomiting during pregnancy develop to severe levels. This is a serious disease and can even be fatal if not handled properly or left untreated.

3. After hospitalization for hyperemesis gravidarum, including intravenous infusion, electrolyte supplementation, vitamins and antiemetics, the condition of most patients improves rapidly and disappears naturally as the pregnancy progresses, with no long-term sequelae.
