Everyone knows that the nutrients that breastfeeding women consume every day must enter the baby's body through breast milk. Therefore, the daily diet of breastfeeding women is very important. However, many mothers do not know when to supplement DHA for their children. So, should I take DHA during breastfeeding?

Breastfeeding women should consume at least 200 mg of DHA per day. During the lactation period, dietary supplements are mainly used to increase the content in breast milk. It can also increase the baby's intellectual development.

Fish: There are actually quite a lot of fish foods. For example, horse mackerel, swordfish, tuna, yellow croaker, etc., the DHA content in every 100 grams of fish can reach more than 1000 mg. As for a certain type of fish, we recommend orbital fat as the part with high DHA content, followed by fish oil.

Dried fruits: Nuts such as walnuts, almonds, peanuts, etc. are actually very rich in nutritional value. The α-linolenic acid contained in it can be converted into DHA in the human body.

Algae.

Supplements for breastfeeding mothers to supplement DHA include:

There are currently two types of DHA on the market, one is extracted from deep-sea fish oil, and the other is extracted from algae. The former comes from fish fat. The EPA content in fish oil is relatively high, which often makes people's DHA proportion too low, which is quite different from breast milk and generally does not meet the physiological needs of children.

In comparison, algae is more likely to be popular among people because it is a pure plant-based DHA raw material extracted from artificially cultivated marine microalgae. It is the purest source of DHA without any physical link. It is particularly worth mentioning that it is highly stable and not easily oxidized, making it especially suitable for babies.
