Get a vaccination against cervix

The cervical cancer vaccine is also known as the HPV vaccine. It is a relatively effective measure to prevent cervical cancer. We know that the incidence of cervical cancer has been relatively high in recent years. The main cause of cervical cancer is human papillomavirus infection. Through the injection of this vaccine, the chance of human infection with cervical cancer can be greatly reduced. It is a very good way to prevent cervical cancer. Let's take a look at this aspect.

HPV is mainly transmitted through sexual contact, so every sexually active woman is at risk of being infected with carcinogenic HPV. In addition, in addition to sexual intercourse, HPV infection can also be transmitted through direct contact: for example, if the hands come into contact with objects contaminated with HPV, the virus may be brought into the reproductive organs when going to the toilet or bathing; or the reproductive organs may come into contact with objects such as bath towels contaminated with HPV, which may also cause infection. HPV infection is more common among women. Data show that 4 out of 5 women will be infected at some stage in their lives. If you are infected with high-risk HPV, it may progress to severe cervical lesions or even develop into cervical cancer.

Before the advent of the vaccine, the main means of preventing cervical cancer was through cervical screening, which is to examine the exfoliated cells of the cervix and further examination to detect early cervical lesions and treat them. The advent of the vaccine has made the prevention of cervical cancer more comprehensive and effective. It is worth noting that even if you have received the cervical cancer vaccine, you should still undergo regular screening. There are more than 100 subtypes of HPV virus, and more than 10 high-risk subtypes associated with cervical cancer, and the vaccine only targets some of them.

Available vaccines

1. HPV 2-valent vaccine

On July 12, 2016, the State Food and Drug Administration approved GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK) import registration application for its preventive biological product, human papillomavirus adsorbed vaccine. This product is a bivalent vaccine prepared by using a baculovirus expression system to express recombinant HPV16 and 18 L1 virus-like particles, which are purified and then added with MPL and aluminum hydroxide adjuvants. This vaccine is the first new vaccine to be applied for marketing approval in my country. Research data show that its safety and effectiveness in the domestic target population are consistent with those abroad.

Existing data show that HPV16 and 18 have the highest infection rates, causing 70% of cervical cancer, 80% of anal cancer, 60% of vaginal tumors and 40% of vulvar cancer.

2. HPV 4-valent vaccine

Merck developed the world's first HPV4 vaccine, Gardasil?, and launched it in the United States through priority approval. This quadrivalent vaccine protects against HPV types 16, 18, 6, and 11, and can prevent diseases caused by four types of human papillomavirus (HPV 6, 11, 16, 18).

3. HPV 9-valent vaccine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on its official website on December 10, 2014 that GARDASIL, developed by Merck (known as Merck in the United States and Canada),

9 (Gardasil, nine-valent recombinant human papillomavirus vaccine) was approved. This 9-valent vaccine can protect against virus types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58.
