Symptoms of lower abdominal pain after conception

Pregnant women are prone to lower abdominal pain after pregnancy, which is also a symptom of pregnancy. Especially in the early stages of pregnancy, the symptoms of abdominal pain will be more obvious. In addition to abdominal pain caused by pregnancy, you should also be alert to some medical reasons, such as uterine fibroids, ectopic pregnancy or ovarian cysts. Any of these may cause such symptoms. Pregnant women should be alert to signs of miscarriage.

Symptoms of lower abdominal pain after conception

1. Abdominal pain as an early pregnancy reaction: In the early stages of pregnancy, there may be some abdominal pain and discomfort that is not very severe, but does not last long and is often accompanied by vomiting. This is a manifestation of early pregnancy reaction. Pain in the upper abdomen is mostly caused by the physiological increase in gastric acid secretion in early pregnancy; occasional cramps in the lower abdomen are related to the enlarged uterus pulling upward on the ligaments that support the uterus. These pains and discomforts will naturally disappear as the early stages of pregnancy pass.

2. Uterine fibroids: Uterine fibroids may grow during pregnancy. The impacts on pregnancy include fibroid degeneration and necrosis, fibroid torsion, and direct interference with fetal development or obstruction of delivery. This pain usually comes suddenly, and the pain point is fixed, which is local pain.

3. Ectopic pregnancy: The embryo implants and develops outside the uterus, such as in the fallopian tube, ovary, abdominal cavity, etc. Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy in early pregnancy: amenorrhea, abdominal pain, and vaginal bleeding. If the gestational sac in the uterus cannot be seen through abdominal or vaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks of pregnancy, and human chorionic gonadotropin is excessive in the blood, or even internal bleeding occurs, it can be diagnosed as an ectopic pregnancy.

4. Ovarian tumors: During pregnancy, complications caused by ovarian tumors include tumor torsion and tumor rupture. Most ovarian tumors in early pregnancy are benign, but malignant tumors also exist. Therefore, if an ovarian tumor is found during pregnancy, if colic, abdominal discomfort, abnormal abdominal distension, ascites, etc. occur, you must seek medical attention as soon as possible.

5. Miscarriage: If you find lower abdominal pain and bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, you must be vigilant. The main symptoms of threatened abortion may include the above symptoms.

When does early pregnancy reaction start?

Some women worry about whether they are pregnant when their menstruation does not come when it is supposed to come, and even start to worry about when they will have early pregnancy reactions. So when do early pregnancy reactions start? Because each woman's physique is different, the timing of early pregnancy reactions will also be different. Generally, early pregnancy reactions can begin to appear four or five weeks after menstruation, but for most people, they begin to appear around six weeks, and the peak is around ten weeks. Generally, it is not until around the third month of pregnancy, which is about twelfth week after menstruation, that early pregnancy reactions will gradually subside.

As the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the body of pregnant women increases, pregnant women will experience symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting in the morning, loss of appetite, aversion to oil, and preference for sour food. We call this early pregnancy reaction. The time when early pregnancy reactions appear and when they stop are closely related to hCG.

When will the early pregnancy reaction end? Early pregnancy reactions usually last until the third month of pregnancy. After the third month, symptoms such as nausea and vomiting will gradually ease. However, it varies from person to person. The early pregnancy reactions of each pregnant woman are not exactly the same, and the duration is also different. If a pregnant woman still has early pregnancy reactions in the fourth or fifth month, this is also normal.

In most cases, the early pregnancy reactions have subsided by the second trimester, but for a few pregnant women, they will continue until delivery. Some pregnant women are lucky and have no obvious early pregnancy reactions from the beginning of pregnancy. Early pregnancy reactions are a natural manifestation of the pregnant woman's body adapting to the new environment and protecting the fetus from harm. They are not a disease, so don't worry too much.
