Small uterus and no menstruation

Small uterus and no menstruation

All couples hope to have a baby of their own after marriage, but many people cannot realize this wish due to their own reasons. Some women cannot give birth to babies normally because of their small uterus. This is a topic that troubles many people. For adult women, the size of the uterus generally remains unchanged except during pregnancy. So, what should you do if your uterus is small and your menstruation does not come?

1. What is the reason for a small uterus?

A small uterus is a common genital development disorder. It is usually caused by a developmental malfunction during the embryonic period. If a woman's uterus is too small, it will have a certain impact on the body, especially pregnancy and childbirth. A small uterus can be divided into two types. One type is the adolescent uterus, in which the ratio of the uterine cavity to the cervical canal is one to one. The other type of small uterus is the infantile uterus, in which the ratio of the uterine cavity to the cervical canal is one to two, and it is often accompanied by ovarian hypoplasia, which is a more serious type of small uterus. Everyone knows that pregnancy is closely related to the release of eggs from the ovaries. If the ovaries are underdeveloped, it can easily affect women's conception.

2. Will a small uterus affect pregnancy?

A small uterus is generally due to uterine hypoplasia and thin endometrium. During pregnancy, it mainly affects the fertilized egg's position in the fetus, which is medically known as implantation. A fertilized egg that fails to implant cannot further develop into a fetus, and continued pregnancy is impossible. Sometimes, even if the fertilized egg is implanted, it is easy to cause miscarriage and the pregnancy ends. However, the severity of an immature uterus varies, and not all immature uteruses are incapable of continuing pregnancy, because the clinical diagnostic criteria are also inconsistent.

Everyone's personal situation is different. People of the same height can have different weights, and people of the same weight can have different heights. That is to say, the uterus of tall people will be larger, and the uterus of short people will be smaller. It also depends on your menstrual condition and whether your secondary sexual characteristics are normal. If menstruation and secondary sexual characteristics are normal, a small uterus alone should not affect fertility. It is recommended to check the ovarian function first to see if ovulation has occurred. Infertility will only occur if the ovaries are also underdeveloped.
