What happens if you don't have your period for a long time?

Menstruation itself is a very troublesome thing, so many young women also hope that they can have no menstruation, just like the elderly, without menstruation, and do not have to worry about staining their underwear every time, or experiencing dysmenorrhea, but not having menstruation means that the human body is aging and has entered the menopausal stage. Not having menstruation will disrupt the body's normal endocrine and body system problems, so menstruation is necessary.

symptom

1. Blood circulation: The face suddenly becomes hot and flushed, which subsides in a few seconds. Also accompanied by palpitations, night sweats, etc.

2. Mental aspect: emotional instability, anxiety, suspicion, insomnia, depression, etc.;

3. Menstruation: First, the menstrual period becomes very irregular, the menstrual flow may become heavy or light, and finally menstruation stops. Of course, this is the main symptom of missed menstruation;

4. Skin: Skin changes are also symptoms of amenorrhea. The subcutaneous tissue and water content decrease, becoming dry, thinner and losing its luster. The vaginal epidermis also atrophies, causing degenerative vaginitis, with symptoms such as vaginal itching, stinging, and pain during sexual intercourse. The urethral epithelium also atrophies, causing aseptic urethritis, frequent urination, and urinary incontinence;

5. Other aspects: There are other symptoms of amenorrhea, such as dizziness, headache, neck and shoulder pain, back pain, etc.

Uterine examination

(1) Hysteroscopy: to understand the depth, width, shape and shape of the hysterectomy cavity, whether there are any deformities or adhesions, and to take samples of the endometrium to check for any pathological changes;

(2) Laparoscopic examination: direct observation of the appearance of the uterus and gonads to exclude congenital developmental abnormalities and, if necessary, ovarian biopsy;

(3) Hystero-tubal iodized oil radiography: to understand the morphology of the uterine cavity, whether there are any deformities, whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, and to exclude tuberculosis;

(4) Drug test examination: progesterone and estrogen test to observe whether the endometrium responds.

Ovarian function test

(1) Vaginal mucus crystal examination: to understand the estrogen level;

(2) Cervical mucus crystal examination: to understand the estrogen level and whether there is any progesterone effect;

(3) Basal body temperature measurement: to understand whether ovulation and corpus luteum function occur;

(4) Determination of estrogen and progesterone levels: to understand ovarian function.

Pituitary function tests

(1) Measure the PSH and LH levels in the blood: if the levels are higher than normal, it indicates ovarian dysfunction; if the levels are lower than normal, it indicates pituitary dysfunction or higher central nervous system dysfunction.

(2) Pituitary stimulation test: Generally, 15 to 30 minutes after taking the medicine, the LH value is 2 to 4 times higher than before taking the medicine, indicating that the pituitary function is good. If it does not increase or increases very little, it means that the disease may be in the pituitary.

(3) Determination of prolactin (PRL) in blood: If PRL < 50ug/ml, further PRL stimulation or inhibition test should be performed to differentiate functional increased secretion of PRL from pituitary adenoma.

(4) Sella turcica X-ray, MRI, etc. to exclude pituitary tumors.
