A little blood at 38 weeks

A little blood at 38 weeks

The phenomenon of a little blood in the 38th week should be taken seriously, mainly because this period is very sensitive. For some pregnant women, it is normal, while for others it may be a manifestation of miscarriage. Therefore, we must find out the cause of bleeding during pregnancy. At the same time, once there are signs of abdominal pain, we must pay attention to it and go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination in time.

Bleeding occurs when delivery is approaching. Some women may have a small amount of bloody secretions discharged from the vagina, which is called bloody show. Sometimes, mucus plugs may also be discharged at the same time. Bloody show is a reliable sign that labor is about to begin. Most women go into labor within 24-48 hours. The amount of bleeding in late pregnancy is very small. If it exceeds the menstrual volume, you should consider whether there is late pregnancy bleeding such as placenta previa.

The fetus moves in the abdomen and tries to struggle to break away from the mother's body. The amniotic membrane that wraps the fetus rubs against the inner wall of the uterus (especially the position of the fetal head is an area that is prone to bleeding). The friction can cause the inner wall of the uterus to rupture and bleed. This is what people often call "late pregnancy bleeding."

The blood that comes out at this time is sticky and can be easily distinguished from abnormal bleeding. The color is usually red or pink. After a short period of time after flowing out, it will appear brown and black-red. Attachment to underwear is very similar to menstruation, but it varies from person to person. During the delivery process, labor pains and spotting are inevitable.

How long it takes to give birth after bleeding varies from person to person. Generally, labor will begin 48 hours after the onset of bleeding, but the labor process for primiparas is longer, usually 11-12 hours. You don't have to rush to the hospital. You can wait until regular contractions appear. As the time intervals between contractions gradually become shorter, you are ready to give birth.

Precautions during late pregnancy

1. Sleeping position: In the late pregnancy, as the fetus grows, the sleeping position of the pregnant woman becomes more and more important. In order to allow the fetus to better exchange gases and substances with the mother, obtain oxygen and nutrients, and excrete carbon dioxide and waste, experts recommend that pregnant women adopt a left side sleeping position.

2. Pregnant women themselves must also be mentally prepared. Some women watch some delivery videos or caesarean section videos too early in their pregnancy, which causes them great psychological tension. Some pregnant women often ask for advice, saying that giving birth is so painful, bleeding is so much, and cesarean section is so painful. Premature psychological tension will produce a substance in the body that directly passes through the placenta. The mother's feeling of uneasiness can be transmitted to the child. The mother is always in panic during pregnancy, which is not conducive to the development of the fetus in the uterus.

3. When a pregnant woman stands, she should keep the heels and soles of both feet on the ground so that the weight of the whole body is evenly distributed on the two feet. The knees should be straight, the abdominal wall should be tightened inward and upward, while the buttocks should be contracted. The arms should hang naturally on both sides of the body, the head should be raised naturally, and the eyes should look straight ahead.

4. Work: If you have to sit and work for a long time, you should pay attention to elevating your feet and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Take a proper rest after working for a period of time, get up and move around or stretch your limbs. Remember to drink plenty of water while working, but never hold your urine when you feel the urge. Try to reduce stress at work and practice productive breathing to relax yourself after work.
