Why do you need a cervical biopsy?

Why do you need a cervical biopsy?

The uterus is an important reproductive organ in the female body, but because the female vagina is very susceptible to bacteria, problems with the uterus are also very likely to occur. Problems with the uterus are a very scary thing for women, so many women choose to have cervical plug insertion. However, many women do not understand this practice. Today, I will introduce to female friends the importance of cervical plugging.

1. The significance of cervical biopsy

Some friends may not pay much attention to the care of their cervix, so they do not have regular cervical biopsy examinations. In fact, the purpose of cervical biopsy is to diagnose cervical cancer with high accuracy. Doctors usually recommend that women have regular check-ups so as not to delay the treatment of cervical cancer. You must know that cervical cancer will directly threaten women's health and may even take their precious lives.

2. How often should a cervical biopsy be performed?

Cervical biopsy is actually a very good physical examination item. Cancer is aggressive, and doctors usually recommend that women of childbearing age undergo cervical cancer screening every three years. If they are over 30 years old, they need to do it once a year because after the age of 30, they enter the high-risk age period for cervical cancer.

3. Can early-stage cervical cancer be cured?

The principle of cervical biopsy is to take living tissue from the cervix for pathological examination, and the results can be obtained in a few days. Cervical cancer is one of the malignant tumors with the highest incidence rate today, which is simply bad news for women. But it does not mean that patients have no chance of recovery. As long as it is discovered early enough and receives standardized and effective treatment, the possibility of recovery is still very high in the early stages of cervical cancer.

4. Do I need to rest after cervical biopsy?

The best time to perform a biopsy is between the third and seventh day after the menstruation is completely over. It can also be performed at other times, but the main thing is to avoid the menstrual period. It is best not to do it one week before or during the menstrual period to prevent bleeding. The biopsy site may bleed, so avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, or sitz baths for 1 to 2 weeks after the test. If vaginal bleeding is heavy, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment. If the job is easy and requires working in an office, then you can work. Generally, it is best to rest for three days after a cervical biopsy, avoid doing physical work, and avoid spicy, raw, and cold foods.
