What are the side effects of cervical cryotherapy?

What are the side effects of cervical cryotherapy?

Cervical disease is a type of gynecological disease. For some women, suffering from this disease has a great impact on their lives. Some women may not even be able to have children because they cannot get good treatment for this disease. This is somewhat heartbreaking. In fact, there are many treatments for cervical diseases, such as cryotherapy. So the question is, what are the side effects of cervical cryotherapy?

Cervical erosion is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis, which mainly refers to the complete peeling of the cervical mucosa in the vagina, exposing the rough tissue surface at the bottom, like an ulcer, without epithelial coverage. Usually, a circle of varying sizes or irregular red areas can be seen on the cervix in the vagina. The surface is covered with a single layer of columnar epithelium, with congested and edematous capillaries and occluded glands, and viscous or purulent secretions accumulated underneath. The surface is often red and uneven. This is called cervical erosion. If severe cervical erosion is not treated, a small number of cases may develop cervical precancerous lesions or cervical cancer. There are many ways to treat cervical erosion. Like cryotherapy.

The principle of cryosurgery is to cause the epithelium on the surface of cervical erosion to necrotize and fall off, and then be covered by new squamous epithelium. In order to achieve the therapeutic effect, the effect of cryotherapy is very good, and the side effects are minimal.

Features of this technique

1. During freezing, the microcirculation in the tissue is blocked and stops, resulting in less local bleeding during and after the operation.

2. Rapid freezing and slow natural thawing after freezing have greater lethality to cells.

3. No scars will be left on the frozen area after healing, which is particularly suitable for the treatment of cervical lesions in women who want to have children.

The following are recommended treatments for cervical erosion:

(1) Drug treatment: For those with small erosions and shallow inflammatory infiltration, the following drug treatment methods can be used: ① 10-20% silver nitrate: Apply topically once a week

② Potassium permanganate: Apply locally after menstruation, and repeat the application once after 1 to 2 months. When using the above drugs, be careful to prevent burns to the surrounding vaginal wall, and pay attention to disinfection when using the drugs to prevent repeated infections.

(2) Physical therapy: used for cervical erosion with a large erosion area and deep inflammatory infiltration.

① Electric ironing: Use a special electric iron to burn the eroded surface tissue, causing it to necrotize and fall off, and it must reach a certain depth, so that the treatment effect is good.

② Cryotherapy: Use a special rapid freezing device to freeze, necrotize, and fall off the lesion tissue on the cervical erosion surface. The commonly used cryogen is liquid nitrogen, which can reduce the temperature of the cryotherapy head to -

196 degrees Celsius, put it on the surface of the cervix, so that the eroded tissue freezes and necrotizes, falls off, and regenerates new epithelial tissue. It can be cured in one time. Generally there is no adverse reaction, and a few patients have slight dizziness, lower abdominal pain, etc.

③ Laser treatment: Carbon dioxide laser treatment device is often used. A special laser treatment head is used to irradiate the cervical erosion tissue, so that the erosion tissue is carbonized, indurated, and falls off, and new squamous epithelium grows again. Generally, it can be cured in one time. There is no special discomfort during the operation, and a few patients have bleeding when the induration is removed.

④KS instrument treatment: It uses special band light and heat treatment, which is painless and effective. During the treatment with the above method, attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the vulva, and living, vaginal irrigation and sitting bathing are prohibited. Regular check-ups should also be conducted to observe the healing of the erosion surface.
