What are the symptoms of cervical erosion?

Cervical decay, also known as cervical erosion, is a chronic uterine inflammatory disease. The most common symptoms are excessive secretions with blood clots and blood streaks in the secretions. It often causes vaginal itching and may even cause bacterial lesions. When cervical erosion occurs, patients often suffer from infertility, so it is necessary to find the cause in order to treat it.

Symptoms and signs

Cervical erosion is the most common local feature in the course of chronic metritis. Due to the infiltration of inflammatory secretions, the squamous epithelium of the cervix falls off and is replaced by the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal, which is manifested as cervical erosion. Clinically, cervical erosion is divided into I and II according to the size of the cervical erosion area.

Grade II and III: The main symptoms are:

Increased leucorrhea: Increased leucorrhea is the main symptom of this disease, sometimes it is bloody or mixed with blood.

Vulvar itching and pain: The vulva and vagina may be irritated by increased leucorrhea, which may lead to vulvitis or vaginitis and cause vulvar itching and pain.

Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region: When the inflammation is severe, it may cause pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region along the uterosacral ligament, accompanied by a feeling of falling.

Frequent urination or difficulty urinating: When the inflammation spreads to the bladder trigone or around the bladder, frequent urination or difficulty urinating may occur.

Infertility: Thick leucorrhea is not conducive to sperm penetration, so severe cervicitis can cause infertility.

Treatment

There are generally three types of cervical erosion: mild, moderate and severe. If a woman is of childbearing age and has mild cervical erosion but no symptoms, no treatment is required. There are some physiological factors that cause erosion. If it is moderate to severe erosion, it must be diagnosed in a regular hospital. Except for cervical cancer, some physical treatments can be done. Microwave, laser, freezing, and radiofrequency ablation are more commonly used now, and these treatments are more effective. Generally, one treatment may be enough, or two treatments at most.

Drug treatment is suitable for patients with small erosion surface, shallow inflammatory infiltration or limited conditions. Use 25% silver nitrate, chromic acid and other local corrosion agents. The vagina should be irrigated before medication, then wiped dry with dry cotton balls, and cotton balls should be used to protect the normal vaginal mucosa. The drug can also be applied topically with Aibao (preferably by a doctor) or self-administered with vaginal suppositories. Drug treatment is mainly suitable for non-pregnant patients with mild to moderate cervical erosion, but drug treatment generally takes a long time and costs more.

Many Chinese herbal powders also have certain therapeutic effects, but they are prohibited from use during menstruation and pregnancy.

Do not have sexual intercourse or take a bath after taking the medicine

No medication can be used for a long time: especially the vaginal environment, long-term medication can easily lead to candidal vaginitis, which is an imbalance of flora. Therefore, it is not advisable to take medication for a long time if you have severe cervical erosion. Moreover, if the cervical erosion is severe, long-term medication will not get better. Therefore, it would be better to do physical therapy after eliminating the acute inflammation.
