During the process of pregnancy, fetal movement is a feeling that pregnant women will inevitably have, and the fetal movement phenomenon is mainly caused by the baby moving in the mother's belly. Fetal movements have a certain normal number and frequency. If they exceed this range, for example, if the fetal movements are too frequent, it may mean that there is a problem with the mother's sleeping position, or it may be because the baby is hungry or the fetus is in an abnormal position. 1. It is related to the sleeping position of pregnant mothers If the pregnant mother's sleeping position is incorrect, the baby will resist through fetal movement. It is not recommended to sleep on your back in the late pregnancy. Long-term supine sleeping can cause placental abruption and uterine bleeding. In severe cases, it can also cause insufficient blood supply to the placenta, leading to fetal asphyxia. Most mothers will follow the doctor's advice to sleep on their left side in the late pregnancy, but for some mothers, the fetus will still kick when they sleep on their left side. At this time, the pregnant mother needs to adjust the sleeping position appropriately according to the baby's reaction, instead of blindly using one posture. 2. Baby is hungry The baby's strong fetal movement in the middle of the night may also be telling the mother that he is hungry. At this time, the pregnant mother needs to get out of bed and eat something. If you don’t believe it, try drinking a glass of milk or eating some snacks. It is possible that the baby will fall asleep obediently after eating and drinking, and the pregnant mother will naturally sleep well. In order to meet the baby's development needs, pregnant mothers are advised to eat small meals frequently and try not to let the baby in the stomach go hungry. 3. Abnormal fetal position Normal fetal position: The fetal head is bent forward with the occipital bone in front. During delivery, the head is the first to enter the pelvis. This is medically known as "head first presentation". Delivery in this fetal position is generally smooth. Abnormal fetal position: If the fetal head changes from flexion to extension or the occipital bone is at the back, it is considered an abnormal fetal position. As for those deliveries in which the buttocks are exposed first (breech presentation), or the feet or legs are exposed first, or even the arms are exposed first (transverse presentation), etc., these are abnormal fetal positions. In this case, pregnant mothers need to be vigilant and go to the hospital in time if they find any abnormalities. Under normal circumstances, during the day, fetal movements are relatively even between 8-12 am, least at 2-3 pm, and slowly increase after 18:00, reaching the most active between 20-23:00 pm. |
