B-ultrasound does not show pregnancy

For some women who have just become pregnant, they naturally have to go to the hospital for relevant examinations, because the examination can determine whether the pregnancy is successful, as well as the current status of the pregnancy, including whether there is an ectopic pregnancy. There are many ways to check pregnancy, such as urine tests, gynecological examinations, blood tests, and B-ultrasound can also be used to check.

How to check if you are pregnant

Different examinations may be performed based on the time of the first visit and each person's physical condition.

1. Urine test

This is the most commonly used method. After pregnancy, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) increases and is excreted from the body through urine. This is the principle of early pregnancy test strips and hospital examinations. Its accuracy is over 90% and it can detect it as early as 2 weeks after conception. If you wait until after 4 weeks of pregnancy to do the test, the results will be more reliable. If you test yourself at home, it is best to use morning urine, which is more accurate.

2. Gynecological examination

During the examination, the doctor will find that the uterus begins to enlarge, the cervix and lower uterine segment become softer, and the color of the vaginal mucosa becomes darker. If this test is done on women 2 weeks after conception, its accuracy is nearly 100%. After pregnancy, the color of the cervix will change from its original red to dark purple, and the area between the cervix and the uterus will become particularly soft. Through gynecological examination, you can determine whether you are pregnant by observing changes in the cervix.

3. Ultrasound examination

B-ultrasound is usually performed in early pregnancy, mainly to determine whether the intrauterine pregnancy is normal. In the 4th week of pregnancy, B-ultrasound cannot clearly show signs of pregnancy; in the 5th week, a small gestational sac can be seen, which occupies less than 1/4 of the uterine cavity, or a fetal bud can be seen; if it is the 6th week, in addition to the gestational sac, the fetal bud and fetal heart can also be seen.

The methods of early pregnancy tests can be divided into self-diagnosis and in-process pregnancy tests according to the nature of the operation. In self-diagnosis, you can use the above aspects to diagnose whether you are pregnant. If a female friend who suspects she is pregnant has most of the symptoms, it means the chance of pregnancy is very high, but at this time she cannot be sure whether she is pregnant or not, so it is best to take an early pregnancy test.
