Causes of high thyroid levels in women

Causes of high thyroid levels in women

Thyroid-stimulating hormone is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland that promotes the growth and function of the thyroid gland. It has the function of promoting the proliferation of thyroid follicular epithelial cells, the synthesis and release of thyroid hormones. What symptoms do women with high thyroid stimulating hormone usually have? Because of palpitations, insomnia, and sinoatrial block shown on the electrocardiogram, it is recommended to check the thyroid gland. TSH thyroid stimulating hormone is 4.92, which is high. FT3 and FrT4 are within the normal range. TG-Ab and TPO-Ab are normal. What causes high thyroid levels in women?

High thyrotropin is a characteristic of hypothyroidism. After bilateral thyroidectomy, the thyroid gland loses its function. Thyroid hormone secretion is significantly reduced, resulting in hypothyroidism, which stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete thyroid stimulating hormone, resulting in increased thyroid stimulating hormone.

Additions and subtractions to diet and treatment:

1. Suitable food: For hypothyroidism caused by iodine deficiency, you need to use appropriate amounts of kelp and laver. You can use iodized salt, iodized soy sauce, iodized eggs and bread to add iodine. When cooking, be careful not to put iodized salt into boiling oil to prevent iodine from volatilizing and reducing iodine concentration. For protein supplementation, you can choose eggs, milk, various meats, and fish; plant protein can be complementary, such as various soy products, soybeans, etc. Supplying animal liver can correct anemia. You must also ensure the supply of various vegetables and fresh fruits.

2. Supply sufficient protein: More than 3 liang of protein per person per day can maintain the body's protein balance. Amino acids are the basic components of protein, and about 3% of protein is constantly renewed every day. When hypothyroidism occurs, the renewal rate of the small intestinal mucosa slows down, the glands that secrete digestive juices are affected, and the enzyme activity decreases. Generally, albumin decreases, so essential amino acids should be supplemented to supply sufficient protein to improve the condition.

3. Limit fat and cholesterol-rich diet: Patients with hypothyroidism often have hyperlipidemia, which is more obvious in primary hypothyroidism. Therefore, fat diet should be limited to about 20% of total calories per day and cholesterol-rich diet should be limited.

4. Correct anemia and provide rich vitamins: People with anemia should supplement their diet with iron-rich foods, vitamin B12 such as animal liver, and folic acid and liver preparations when necessary.

5. Avoid choosing foods: Avoid all kinds of raw goitrogens such as cabbage, Chinese cabbage, rapeseed, cassava, walnuts, etc.
