The first reason

Sitting for a long time, especially with your legs crossed and your legs tightly squeezed together, is bad for the pubic muscles. Spreading your legs too far apart can also damage the pubic muscles. Hip conversion surgery can create trigger points in the pectineus muscles and leave patients with mysterious pain.

You can feel the sartorius contract by flexing the hip and rotating it laterally. This movement externally rotates the knee while extending the leg forward. If you externally rotate the leg, the sartorius contraction will be more intense. Trigger points should be carefully searched for along the entire length, starting at the hip and ending at the inside of the knee. Use one hand to press against the other to massage the trigger point, and the massage should be deep and slow. Putting your thumbs together is also effective. The sartorius crosses over the vastus medialis, and both muscles often cause problems together and respond well to the same treatment.
