Common symptoms of dysmenorrhea include lower abdominal distension and pain before or during menstruation that refuses to be pressed, scanty menstrual blood that flows poorly, dark purple blood with clots, temporary relief of pain under the clots, distending pain in the breasts, chest tightness and discomfort, dark purple tongue with petechiae, and a stringy pulse.

Countermeasures: Soothe the liver and regulate qi, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis.

Safflower wine

[Ingredients] 30 grams of safflower, 1 bottle of rice wine. [Preparation] ① Put safflower in a glass bottle and soak it in rice wine. ② Shake once a day and drink after one week.

[Dosage] Take 10 ml each time, 1 to 3 times a day, add brown sugar for taste. Pregnant women should not use.

[Effects] Promote blood circulation, unblock menstruation, remove blood stasis and relieve pain. It is suitable for women suffering from abdominal pain during menstruation, irregular menstruation, and abdominal pain due to congestion after childbirth.

3. Dysmenorrhea due to damp-heat stasis - damp-heat type

Damp-heat accumulates in the Chong and Ren meridians and the uterus, causing poor circulation of Qi and blood. Before menstruation, the blood sea is filled with Qi and blood, and the damp-heat and blood are combined, causing stagnation and obstruction. Common symptoms of dysmenorrhea include burning and distending pain in the lower abdomen before or during menstruation, refusal to press, dark red menstrual blood, thick and lumpy contents, excessive and yellow vaginal discharge, or lower abdominal pain that worsens during menstruation, or accompanied by fever and thirst, yellow and red urine, purple-red tongue, yellow and greasy tongue coating, and slippery or wiry pulse.

Countermeasures: Clear away heat and dampness, resolve blood stasis and stop bleeding.
