Lactation bronchitis?

Lactation bronchitis?

Bronchitis is generally a respiratory infection, and there are a large number of viruses in the body. If you are breastfeeding, it is best not to breastfeed. Bronchitis requires medication treatment, and some medications will affect the pregnant mother's feeding of the baby. It is best to wait until the condition improves before feeding the baby. If a woman suffers from bronchitis during breastfeeding, she must go to the hospital for timely treatment and must not delay the disease.

What to do if you have bronchitis during lactation?

First of all, acute bronchitis is an acute respiratory disease. Generally speaking, the onset of this disease is relatively rapid. Patients will have symptoms of fever and cough, especially coughing, which will continue all day and all night. Some severe cases may even cause shortness of breath.

Secondly, if a breastfeeding woman gets bronchitis, she must not take it lightly and should go to a regular hospital for treatment. She may be given intravenous infusion at this time, but she can choose some drugs that have little effect on breast milk, such as penicillin or cephalosporin.

However, some babies may be allergic to penicillin. In this case, do not let the baby breastfeed. Squeeze out the milk first and wait until the condition is completely healed before letting the child breastfeed. The mother can drink some cough syrup for treatment, and at the same time supplement protein to enhance the body's immunity.

Note:

If you have acute bronchitis, you must drink plenty of water and eat more nutritious food, preferably liquid or semi-liquid food. You should also eat more fresh vegetables and fruits containing vitamin C.

Typical symptoms of bronchitis

1. Cough:

Long-term, recurrent, and gradually worsening cough is a prominent symptom of bronchitis. In mild cases, the disease only occurs in winter and spring, especially in the early morning before and after getting up, and there is less coughing during the day. In summer and autumn, the cough is relieved or disappears. Severe patients cough in all seasons, which is aggravated in winter and spring. They cough day and night, especially in the morning and evening.

2. Shortness of breath and wheezing:

What are the symptoms of bronchitis in daily life? The early stage of bronchitis is often not obvious. When the course of bronchitis progresses and is combined with obstructive pulmonary emphysema, shortness of breath of varying degrees will gradually appear, especially after activities. Patients with chronic bronchitis combined with asthma or so-called asthmatic chronic bronchitis, especially during acute attacks, are often accompanied by wheezing.

3. Recurrent infection:

Recurrent respiratory infections are likely to occur during cold seasons or when the temperature changes suddenly. At this time, the asthma of bronchitis patients worsens, the amount of sputum increases significantly and becomes purulent, accompanied by symptoms of bronchitis such as general fatigue, chills, and fever. There are moist sounds in the lungs and an increase in white blood cell count in the blood.

4. Coughing up phlegm:

The sputum of patients with bronchitis is generally white, mucous and foamy, with more in the morning, and is often difficult to cough up due to its viscosity. After infection or cold, symptoms rapidly worsen, sputum volume increases, viscosity increases, or becomes yellow purulent sputum or is accompanied by wheezing. Occasionally, there is blood in the sputum due to severe coughing.

The symptoms of bronchitis are listed above. Some people may say that these symptoms are similar to those of a cold and it is difficult to judge by themselves. This kind of situation may happen, so we would like to remind everyone that when the cold is serious, it is best to go to the hospital for examination to see if bronchitis infection has occurred. If infected, it is necessary to seek timely treatment to avoid worsening of both the cold and bronchitis.
