37 weeks of pregnancy uterine height abdominal circumference standard

Every expectant mother should undergo regular pregnancy checkups during the pregnancy. As individual physical conditions vary, the body will have different conditions. The 37th week of pregnancy is the late stage of pregnancy. At this time, pregnant women have more and more frequent physical examinations. They should be alert at all times and go to the hospital in time if any abnormalities occur in their bodies. Uterine height and abdominal circumference are also examinations that must be measured during pregnancy.

1. Uterine height and abdominal circumference standard for 37 weeks of pregnancy

Abdominal circumference refers to the circumference of the abdomen. Pregnant women need to measure their abdominal circumference at every prenatal checkup starting from the 20th week. They can lie down or stand and use a soft tape measure to measure horizontally around the abdomen with the navel as the reference. The measured value is the abdominal circumference. By measuring the abdominal circumference and understanding its growth, and then drawing a pregnancy curve chart based on the uterine height, we can understand the development of the fetus.

The actual situation of abdominal circumference growth is different for each pregnant woman. When the abdominal circumference does not increase according to the numerical value, pregnant women do not need to worry too much, because the pregnant women themselves are different before pregnancy. Normally, the average increase in abdominal circumference is 0.85cm per week. The growth of abdominal circumference is unstable before 20 weeks. It grows fastest from 20 to 24 weeks, at 1.5cm per week. After 24 to 34 weeks of pregnancy, the growth rate of abdominal circumference slows down to 0.26cm. If the abdominal circumference measured at 16 weeks of pregnancy is taken as the base number, the average growth value is 21cm by full term.

The abdominal circumference growth table is for reference only. Because abdominal circumference measurement is greatly affected by individual factors of the pregnant mother, when the data does not match the reference table. Pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much and should also conduct a comprehensive analysis in combination with other examinations.

2. What is the significance of waist circumference measurement?

1. Observe the uterine cavity and the size of the uterus

Measuring abdominal circumference growth and uterine fundus height can be used as one of the indicators for predicting fetal development. The abdominal circumference of the expectant mother is closely related to the size of the fetus. Measuring the abdominal circumference is mainly to understand the situation in the uterine cavity and whether the size of the uterus is consistent with the gestational age by measuring the length of the largest plane of the abdomen.

2. Draw a pregnancy curve chart

Pregnant mothers need to measure abdominal circumference and uterine height during prenatal checkups starting from the 16th week. A pregnancy curve chart will be drawn based on the uterine height change data to understand the intrauterine development of the fetus during pregnancy and whether there is developmental delay or macrosomia.

The growth rate of abdominal circumference should be controlled within a range. If a pregnant woman measures her abdominal circumference and finds that it is growing too fast or too slow, there is a high possibility that some pathological changes have occurred.

The abdominal circumference grows too fast. Under normal circumstances, the abdominal circumference of pregnant women in the middle and late stages of pregnancy will not exceed 95 to 100 cm. If the growth rate is too fast and too large, be alert to the following situations.
