How to suppress uterine contractions during pregnancy

Many pregnant women will experience uterine contractions in the second trimester. From a medical point of view, it is normal to have occasional uterine contractions in the second trimester. We can call them false contractions, but if the contractions are frequent and the intervals are short, we should pay special attention to them. To prevent the situation from getting worse and leading to premature birth. Pregnant women in the second trimester will have a hard time. Although the fetus is relatively stable at this time, insufficient rest, fatigue or other external stimuli may cause uterine contractions, and frequent uterine contractions will pose a great threat to the baby.

1. Take rest

If conditions permit, expectant mothers should lie down to rest during mid-pregnancy contractions, take deep breaths, and breathe through their mouths to relax their abdomen. If conditions do not permit, when false contractions occur, they should stop exercising immediately, stand or sit down quietly, and wait for the contractions to end.

2. If the condition is serious, you need to go to the hospital as soon as possible to preserve the fetus.

When the expectant mother has contractions, her stomach is very hard and she can clearly feel the presence of the uterus on her belly. There is usually no pain, just some discomfort and difficulty breathing, which can be relieved by rest. However, if the expectant mother has frequent contractions, it may be a case of premature birth. She must go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment, and try to protect the fetus as much as possible if conditions permit to avoid premature birth.

3. Develop a good life routine

In the second trimester of pregnancy, expectant mothers should also have a healthy life routine, avoid staying up late, avoid strenuous exercise, eat more nutritious food, and promote the development of the fetus. Bad living habits will cause fetal intrauterine abnormalities, such as long-term Internet access and mahjong playing, which are not good for the fetus. When the fetus has intrauterine itching and other conditions, uterine contractions may occur, so expectant mothers need to be more vigilant about abnormal uterine contractions.

4. Lying on your left side

It is recommended that expectant mothers take the left side decubitus position to reduce spontaneous uterine contractions, increase uterine blood flow, improve placental function, and increase fetal oxygen supply and nutrition.

5. Wear loose and comfortable clothes

Expectant mothers should wear maternity clothes that are loose around the abdomen. The fabrics should be light, soft, breathable, and moisture-absorbent silk or pure cotton. Chemical fiber fabrics should not be used.
