1. Unstable implantation of fertilized eggs

Generally speaking: Menstruation is bleeding caused by the necrosis and shedding of the endometrium after ovulation. In a sense, menstruation is the female uterus preparing for pregnancy. Under normal circumstances, if the fertilized egg successfully implants into the endometrium, the woman will not ovulate, and this kind of preparation will no longer be necessary. Therefore, menstruation will generally stop during pregnancy. Special circumstances: Because the fertilized egg implantation is not stable, the placenta has not formed, and it is close to or on the day of menstruation, a mature egg will still be discharged and then discharged from the body along with the shedding of the endometrium, causing a small number of pregnant women to think they are having their "menstruation".

2. Endometrial shedding

Generally speaking: After a woman becomes pregnant, her ovaries will secrete a large amount of progesterone, estrogen, etc. to promote the thickening of the endometrium, thereby providing a fertile "soil" for the implantation and growth of the fertilized egg. At this time, as the levels of estrogen and progesterone in women's bodies continue to increase, the endometrium will no longer shed, and women will no longer have menstruation. Special circumstances: Due to individual differences and other reasons, some women's ovarian secretion of sex hormones, especially progesterone levels, is relatively low after pregnancy, resulting in a small part of the endometrium continuing to shed.

Although menstruation will occur, the amount of menstruation will be much less than normal. It is not until three months into pregnancy that the placenta is formed and the estrogen and progesterone levels in the female body are maintained at a relatively high level. At this time, the endometrium no longer sheds and menstruation no longer occurs.

3. Vaginal bleeding: Bleeding after pregnancy is common in pregnancy complicated by cervical polyps or erosions. Cervical cancer can also cause vaginal bleeding. In very rare cases, menstruation during pregnancy can be understood as a physiological reaction after the fertilized egg implants.

4. Threatened abortion: There is a history of amenorrhea, and the urine pregnancy test is positive, confirming pregnancy. In this case, if vaginal bleeding occurs, or is accompanied by back pain or abdominal pain, threatened abortion should be considered first, and the possibility of ectopic pregnancy should also be considered. Menstruation after pregnancy is not true menstruation, but bleeding caused by lesions in the uterus or its appendages. You should be especially alert to ectopic pregnancy and threatened abortion, which are both very dangerous. If you get your period again after becoming pregnant, you should go to the hospital for a check-up immediately. Find out the cause of bleeding so that timely treatment can be provided.
