What are the symptoms of cervical prolapse?

The clinical manifestations of uterine prolapse are mainly the discharge of large amounts of dark brown blood clots during menstruation, and unbearable abdominal pain and general fatigue during menstruation. The amount of leucorrhea also increases at normal times, accompanied by an odor and genital itching. Cervical prolapse is a very serious gynecological disease for women. Once you are diagnosed with this disease, you must seek medical attention in time, as it will cause more complications. So what are the specific symptoms of cervical prolapse?

Lumps protrude from the vagina, back pain, menorrhagia, prolonged menstruation, increased leucorrhea, etc. Surgery is generally the main treatment, and a pessary can also be used. Attention should be paid to nutrition in daily life to prevent weight loss from causing visceral prolapse, chronic cough, habitual constipation, and long-term physical exertion in squatting or standing positions.

Whether the uterus is prolapsed or not requires a doctor to perform relevant examinations to diagnose. Uterine prolapse is caused by the relaxation or degeneration of the pelvic ligaments and muscles, which cannot support the uterus and cause the uterus to prolapse into the vagina. Because women may suffer damage to the ligaments and muscles of the uterus during pregnancy or childbirth.

Uterine prolapse refers to the uterus descending from its normal position along the vagina to the external cervical opening below the level of the ischial spine, or even the entire uterus protruding out of the vaginal opening, and is often accompanied by bulging of the anterior and posterior walls of the vagina. This disease is more common in multiparous women and is closely related to childbirth. Clinically, it is divided into three degrees according to the degree of prolapse. Grade I refers to the cervix dropping below the level of the ischial spine, not exceeding the vaginal opening, and being less than 4 cm from the edge of the hymen. Grade II means that the cervix and part of the uterus protrude outside the vaginal opening. Grade II means that the cervix and uterine body are completely protruding out of the vaginal opening. The clinical manifestations are a feeling of falling in the perineum when standing or working, and increased back pain when walking and working hard. The more obvious the symptoms are, the more severe the prolapse is, especially during menstrual period when there is pelvic congestion, the symptoms are more severe, and are often accompanied by excessive menstruation; the swelling protrudes from the vagina, initially when the abdominal pressure increases, and can shrink automatically after rest or bed rest. As the disease progresses, the prolapsed swelling becomes larger and larger, and may even stay outside the vagina all day long and cannot be relocated without surgery.

In severe cases, the prolapsed tumor becomes congested, edematous, and hypertrophic, and may even be unable to retract. It is exposed outside the vaginal opening for a long time, causing local epithelial thickening and mucosal keratinization. Long-term friction with underwear causes erosion, ulcer infection, and exudation of purulent secretions, making walking difficult and very painful. It is also accompanied by bulging of the anterior vaginal wall (cystocele) and posterior vaginal wall (rectocele), causing urine retention, difficulty urinating, urinary tract infection, and even stress urinary incontinence. When uterine prolapse is severe, the ureters often shift and bend, which can easily cause hydroureter and hydropelvic hydrops. When the rectum prolapses, defecation becomes difficult.
