What should women do if their lower abdomen is hard and painful when pressed during menstruation?

When women reach their menstrual period, they will experience more or less symptoms. If your lower abdomen becomes hard during menstruation and there is pain when pressing it, this is mostly because of the pain caused by uterine contraction. For women, this phenomenon is easy to occur, and it is also a common manifestation of dysmenorrhea. You must strengthen prevention in normal times and do more effective methods to relieve dysmenorrhea.

Ways for women to relieve menstrual cramps

1. Practice yoga

Walking or engaging in other moderate exercise before your period will make you more comfortable during your period. Yoga also has a relaxing effect. Here are some examples. Kneel down with your knees bent, sitting on your heels. Rest your forehead on the ground and stretch your arms out at your sides. Hold this position until you feel uncomfortable.

2. Stay warm

I believe that many women are very aware of this and are making practical efforts to achieve it. During menstruation, keeping the body warm and relaxing can promote blood circulation and help relieve the trouble of dysmenorrhea. The simplest way to keep warm is to drink more hot water or place a warm hot water bottle on your abdomen, which is very effective!

3. Eat a balanced diet

Doctors say: "Most women skip regular meals and eat excessive sweets and salty foods." Although a healthy diet cannot eliminate dysmenorrhea, it has a magical effect on improving overall health. Avoid junk food that is too sweet or too salty as it will make you bloated and slow down. Eat more vegetables, fruits, chicken, fish, and try to eat small meals frequently.

4. Take vitamins and minerals

Many patients have experienced less dysmenorrhea after taking the appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals every day. It is recommended to take a multivitamin and mineral supplement, preferably one containing calcium in a low dose, several times a day (after meals). The minerals calcium, potassium and magnesium can also help relieve menstrual cramps. Experts have found that women who take calcium have less menstrual pain than those who do not. Magnesium is also important because it helps the body absorb calcium efficiently. You may want to increase your calcium and magnesium intake before and during your period.

5. Take a mineral bath

Add 1 cup of sea salt and 1 cup of sodium bicarbonate to a tub of warm water. Soaking for 20 minutes can help relax muscles and relieve menstrual cramps.

6. No alcohol

If you are prone to swelling during your period, alcohol will make the problem worse. Don't drink alcohol. If you must drink, limit it to 1-2 glasses of wine.

7. Taking painkillers

Aspirin and acetaminophen can relieve menstrual cramps. However, more effective over-the-counter medications include Advil, Haltran, Medipren, and Nuprin. These medicines contain ibuprofen, which blocks the effects of prostaglandins. When menstrual cramps start, take (1 tablet) with a little milk or food to avoid stomach upset, and continue taking until the menstrual cramps disappear.
