What should I do if I have a fever and headache during confinement? Introducing the Scientific Method!

During the confinement period, women's bodies are very weak and their resistance is very poor. Sometimes they will have headaches if they get a little cold. They are very likely to have fever and colds. However, they cannot take medicine casually during the confinement period. So if you have a fever and headache during the confinement period, you must first keep warm and then solve the problem through the following methods.

1. What should I do if I have a fever during confinement?

Postpartum fever is a common phenomenon. Since childbirth is a damaging process, normal mothers will generally absorb heat below 38°C within one day after delivery. In addition, due to the extreme fullness and swelling of the breasts, lactation fever below 39°C may occur within three or four days after delivery. These are all normal physiological phenomena. Generally, there are no other symptoms except fever, and the white blood cell count in blood tests is not elevated. If the fever persists above 39°C, the blood count is elevated or there are other symptoms, an infection may have occurred.

You should drink more water during fever and eat liquid or semi-liquid food when the fever is high. If necessary, you can use alcohol to wipe the body to reduce temperature, but do not use antipyretics at will, so as not to mask the condition and delay treatment.

2. What to do if you have a headache during confinement?

After giving birth, mothers are weak and have a lack of energy and blood, making them more prone to symptoms like headaches.

Because giving birth exhausts all the mother's energy, and after giving birth the mother has to feed the baby, take care of the baby's food, clothing, housing and transportation, neglecting her own rest and not paying attention to diet, it is easy for the mother to develop symptoms of postpartum headache.

During the confinement period, mothers should pay attention to keeping their bodies warm and avoid direct exposure to fans, natural wind and air conditioning. When you have a headache, you can try to relieve the symptoms by massaging your scalp and adjusting your breathing. It should also be noted that sometimes postpartum headaches may be caused by temporary lack of oxygen. You can try drinking some hot milk or sugar water.

3. What should I do if I have diarrhea during confinement?

If the mother has mild diarrhea due to improper diet, she can continue breastfeeding. While breastfeeding, it is best to regulate your body through diet, eat more light and nutritious foods, eat less irritating foods, and try to avoid taking medicine so as not to affect the quality of milk.

During this period, the mother's breast milk composition will change due to the disease, so the baby's stool may change accordingly. The mother does not need to worry too much. However, if the gastroenteritis is caused by bacterial or viral infection, and the mother has severe diarrhea and symptoms such as fever and dehydration, it is best to stop breastfeeding.
