What are the treatments for female infertility?

In modern life, many female friends suffer from infertility, which directly affects their pregnancy. In order to treat such a disease, we must first find out the cause, because there are many factors that cause infertility, such as hormonal abnormalities, ovulation disorders, fallopian tube abnormalities, etc. Only by finding the specific cause can we better treat it.

1. Hormone abnormalities

Excessive levels of prolactin can interfere with pregnancy. Medications that lower levels of this hormone may be used to increase the likelihood of pregnancy.

2. Ovulation disorders

When ovulation is not smooth or cannot ovulate, drugs can be used to induce ovulation. Initially, ovulation induction drugs (Clomiphene) were used, and after taking them for 5 consecutive days, ovulation was observed using B-ultrasound. If the results are not satisfactory, increase the dosage. If it is still ineffective, inject hormone drugs (HMG, FSH) to induce ovulation.

3. When the test results after sexual intercourse are abnormal

If the quality of cervical mucus is not good or the mucus contains antibodies to the husband's sperm, the examination results will not be satisfactory even if the sperm is in good condition. In this case, it is difficult for the husband's sperm to enter the uterine cavity, so the possibility of pregnancy is also low. A hormone drug that can improve the quality of mucus can be used for treatment, but this method takes a long time and the effect is not very ideal, so artificial insemination is mainly used for treatment.

4. Abnormal fallopian tube

When the fallopian tubes are blocked or severely adhered, pregnancy is impossible because the egg and sperm cannot meet. In this case, the following three treatment methods are used according to the severity of the symptoms.

(1) Laparoscopic surgery

When the fallopian tubes are suspected to have lesions based on the results of fallopian tube radiography, laparoscopy is performed to observe the condition of the fallopian tubes more accurately. If the fallopian tube is found to be adhered to the surrounding tissue or the end is blocked, laser treatment can be used on the spot, which has the advantage of not requiring open surgery. However, if the lesion is severe, this surgery is not suitable.

(2) Fallopian tube shaping and restoration surgery

When laparoscopic examination results show that there is a lesion but surgery can be used to increase the possibility of pregnancy, microsurgery can be performed using a microscope.

(3) In vitro fertilization (IVF-ET)

In vitro fertilization is only used when the condition is so severe that the possibility of successful pregnancy through surgery is very low.
