What are the common fallopian tube diseases?

Many couples start preparing for pregnancy at a young age, but after years of efforts, they have not been able to successfully conceive. In this case, it may be considered that one of the couple has a physical illness and cannot conceive normally. The reason why most women cannot give birth normally is related to fallopian tube disease. Problems with the fallopian tubes cause patients to become infertile.

The fallopian tubes are connected to the uterus and ovaries respectively. They can capture mature eggs discharged from the ovaries into the abdominal cavity, provide a channel for sperm and eggs to meet, and are also the best place for fertilized eggs to divide. Once the division of 6 to 8 cells is completed, the fallopian tubes will peristalsis rhythmically to send the fertilized eggs to the uterus for implantation and development. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to call the fallopian tubes the "bridge of life." If the fallopian tubes are blocked, the above functions will be affected and lead to infertility.

What fallopian tube diseases can cause infertility?

Hypoplasia of the fallopian tube: The muscular layer of the hypoplastic fallopian tube is thin and delicate, which is not conducive to the transportation of the fertilized egg and makes ectopic pregnancy more likely to occur. Congenital fallopian tube reversal, twisted or spiral fallopian tubes can also easily lead to infertility. Congenital isthmus defect of the fallopian tube may be caused by occlusion and atrophy of the fallopian tube after torsion in the early fetus.

Fallopian tube endometriosis.

Fallopian tube polyps: block the tube lumen, making it difficult for sperm and egg to combine.

Fallopian tube inflammation:

①Purulent salpingitis.

②Tuberculous salpingitis.

③ Gonorrheal salpingitis.

Tubal dysfunction: Tubal spasm caused by spasmodic contraction of the muscles in the interstitial or isthmus of the fallopian tube is one of the causes of functional infertility. In addition, fallopian tube muscle motility disorders, low tension, and poor ciliary activity can all hinder the delivery of fertilized eggs, so fallopian tube secretory dysfunction may also affect fertilization.
