Before taking a pregnancy test, you need to know this

Pregnancy means that a new life is about to come, but do you welcome or accept this little life? But before that, you have to do an early pregnancy test. If you don't want this child, it will be beneficial for everyone if you deal with it early. The important thing is, if you want a child, then an early pregnancy test will help you know the arrival of the child early, which can also better help you welcome the new life.

Early pregnancy test time

The working principle of early pregnancy self-test is to detect the HCG value, that is, the value of human chorionic gonadotropin. This hormone is produced by the placenta and usually appears in the urine a few days after pregnancy. However, due to the small amount, it is difficult to test it at the beginning. It will not become increasingly obvious until 10 to 14 days. Although many types of early pregnancy test strips indicate that women can do a pregnancy self-test one day after missing their normal menstrual period, in fact, not all pregnant women emit HCG hormones at the same rate and in the same amount. This varies from person to person. If a urine test is done too early, a negative result may be false. Therefore, the best time to do an early pregnancy test is two weeks after your period is late, so that the result will be more accurate.

You can detect whether you are pregnant 18 days after having sex or if your period is delayed by 7-10 days. Because after the sperm and egg combine to form a fertilized egg, it takes 6-8 days for the endometrium to implant, and then 7-10 days for the HCG secreted by the placenta to enter the urine. Adding the two together, it is scientific to test whether you are pregnant from the urine 18 days after having sex. Pregnancy can be detected at the earliest seven days after sexual intercourse, usually around fourteen days, and occasionally more than twenty days. The diagnosis can be confirmed by self-test strips or HCG testing in the hospital.

If the test shows that you are not pregnant, but your period has not come yet, please go to the hospital for a blood test. But if the test shows pregnancy, it is basically accurate. Once you are sure you are pregnant, if you do not plan to keep the baby, then you should go to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible. It is most important to develop an abortion plan to minimize the damage to your body.

Precautions

1. If the early pregnancy test paper you purchased is stored for too long (more than 1 year), or if the early pregnancy test paper is damp and not kept at normal room temperature (should not be refrigerated), it may become invalid and result in a false negative test result.

2. If the pregnancy has just begun, or there is a possibility of ectopic pregnancy, the HCG level in the body is generally low. The test sample needs to be left to stand for more than 3 minutes (usually only 1 minute), and it is necessary to carefully identify whether there is a weak positive - the color band in the test area only appears faintly.

3. After 3 months of pregnancy, HCG levels decrease and urine tests may sometimes be negative or weakly positive.

4. In extreme cases, such as hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma, the HCG level in the body will be too high and the urine test will not show a positive result.

5. A positive result does not mean 100% pregnancy. Because some tumor cells, such as hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma, bronchial carcinoma and renal cancer, can also secrete HCG. We have also encountered patients with endometrial hyperplasia who tested positive for HCG.
