How long will it take to give birth after water breaking with spotting?

After becoming pregnant, women worry every day about how long it will take them to give birth, especially when it comes to the due date. Some people will experience amniotic fluid rupture in the early stages. After the water breaks, there will most likely be some spotting, and delivery may occur within 24 hours. Some people may be cured within three days, or even longer, and they must stay in the hospital for observation.

How long will it take to give birth after the water breaks?

Water breaking can be a major signal of labor. The fetus without the protection of amniotic fluid is prone to hypoxia, so once the water breaks, the expectant mother should go to the doctor immediately to prepare for delivery.

If the amount of amniotic fluid in the mother's body is sufficient and the color is clear, it means that the oxygen in the uterus can last until the birth of the fetus.

If the amniotic fluid is less and turbid, it means the fetus is suffering from hypoxia and requires immediate surgery.

Under normal circumstances, delivery will occur within 24 hours after the water breaks, and antibiotics will be given 12 hours later to prevent infection.

If the expectant mother's contractions have not intensified after more than 24 hours, an induction injection will be needed. If there is no onset after 3 days, a caesarean section will be the only option.
