What to do if there is a pimple on the labia

We know that young people are prone to acne on their faces due to their fast metabolism and abundant oil secretion, but you may not know that some people also get acne in their private parts, and there will be symptoms of redness, swelling, and itching. For women, this type of acne usually grows on the outside or inside of the labia, and most of the patients are young. It is the same as acne, except that it grows in the perineum.

In daily life, the perineum is difficult to clean thoroughly because it is easily contaminated with urine, feces, and leucorrhea. Moreover, the vulvar skin is often in a humid environment, which is suitable for bacterial growth. Coupled with the excessive oil secretion of the skin, it is not surprising to get acne.

If you find acne on your perineum but no other discomfort, you don't need to worry too much. Just drink more water and pay attention to local cleaning and keep it clean. Try not to scratch the affected area with your hands, and do not squeeze or pick at pimples to avoid cross infection. If it's not serious, the inflammation will go away on its own. You can also apply some anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ointments locally under the guidance of a doctor. If there are a large number of pimples in the perineum, the pimples are large, severely red and swollen, and tend to fester, you should go to the hospital in time and take some antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor.

Causes of acne in women's private parts:

The general symptoms of private acne are: rice-grain-sized pimples appear around the vagina, of varying sizes and numbers, vaginal dryness and pain during intercourse, and redness, swelling and itching around the vagina when fever occurs.

1. Unclean sexual life. Acne around the vagina can be caused by a sexually transmitted disease - genital warts: in the early stage, it is light pink or dirty red millet-sized pimples with slightly pointed tops, which gradually grow larger or increase in number and can develop into nipple-like or cystic.

2. Healthy sexual life. Acne around the vagina may be caused by pearly measles infection: it often occurs around the vagina, with growths such as granulations, accompanied by a foul odor, and may cause secondary infection after scratching.

3. If you have acne around the vagina even though you don’t have sex, it is mostly due to vaginitis: due to urethritis, Trichomonas infection, etc., gynecological inflammations such as vulvitis, vaginitis, and vulvar leukoplakia can occur, which can cause small acne-like bumps on the vulva.

4. If you have no sex life but still get acne, it may be folliculitis. Acne is a chronic inflammation of the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles, which is common in teenagers. It is caused by excessive secretion of androgen, excessive sebum secretion, and excessive keratinization of the sebaceous gland ducts of the hair follicles, resulting in narrowing and blockage of the outlet.

What should women do if they have acne in their private parts?
