What is vulvar dystrophy?

Is there also malnutrition in the vulva? The answer is yes. So what is vulvar dystrophy? This disease is also relatively frequent and common. It generally refers to vulvar leukoplakia. There are many pathogenic factors. It is mainly caused by long-term inflammation that cannot be cured, resulting in secondary infection. Some women suffer from endocrine disorders for a long time, which may also cause vulvar malnutrition.

What is female vulvar dystrophy?

1. Inflammation and vaginal infection

Inflammatory irritation and vulvar infection are the most common and simplest causes of vulvar dystrophy. There are many factors in life that cause vulvar infection and inflammation, such as poor hygiene habits, the habit of wearing synthetic underwear, unclean sanitary products, bathing in a bathhouse, swimming in a bathhouse, etc. If the disease is not treated in time, the inflammation will spread to the genitals, causing long-term infection and stimulation, resulting in skin lesions and erosions, and inducing vulvar malnutrition.

2. Endocrine disorders

Endocrine disorders are the main cause of disease. When pathological abnormalities occur in endocrine glands and tissues themselves and problems occur in immune function, endocrine disorders will occur, leading to endocrine diseases. After professional measurement, it was found that there is a protein hormone in the dermis that can inhibit the division and growth of epidermal cells and only acts locally on the epidermis. It has tissue-specificity and causes local connective tissue hyperplasia and metabolic disorders, resulting in vulvar malnutrition.

3. Genetic factors

Genetic factors are the factors most easily overlooked by patients or the public. Studies have found that about 30% of patients with vulvar dystrophy are caused by genetics. Genetically caused vulvar dystrophy is mainly atrophic, and the patients are mainly young girls. Therefore, experts recommend that when patients under the age of 15 discover signs of disease, they should first pay attention to genetic factors, and then choose a method that suits them, which will make the treatment more targeted.

4. Other factors

The female perineum may be traumatized due to certain factors. For example, vaginal delivery during pregnancy may cause perineal tearing, which may damage the local nerves and blood vessels of the perineum and may lead to atrophic vulvar dystrophy. If the patient suffers from diabetes, albinism, vulvar eczema, vulvar itching, etc., if it is not treated properly or treated indiscriminately, it will also cause atrophic vulvar malnutrition.

There are three types of vulvar dystrophy:

1. Hyperplastic type: The lesions are white or red and account for half of vulvar malnutrition. The histological features are blunt or widened epidermal nails, hyperkeratosis, and chronic inflammatory cell infiltration in the dermis.

2. Sclerotic and atrophic lichen type: the epidermis becomes thinner and the nail processes disappear. The epithelial cell layer is reduced, the basal cell layer structure is destroyed, and edema occurs.

3. Mixed type: It has both types of pathological changes.
