How long does it take for the lochia to clear up after induced abortion?

Many female friends will experience lochia after induced abortion. In fact, it is the body expelling waste from the uterus, which is lochia. Generally, the lochia after induced abortion will be discharged within three weeks. If there is still discomfort or heavy bleeding after three weeks, you must go to a regular hospital for examination in time.

1. Under normal circumstances, the lochia of pregnant women will be completely clear within three weeks, but this situation refers to pregnant women who give birth naturally. Pregnant women who give birth naturally will bring out some lochia with the outflow of amniotic fluid, so pregnant women who give birth naturally will generally have their lochia clear in about three weeks. Induced labor is not a natural birth.

2. Induced labor is to force the fetus out through external force, which will damage the uterus and cause abnormal lochia after delivery. If it is induced by medicine, the situation will be aggravated. It takes about a month for the lochia to be cleared by medical induction, while the time for physical induction is shorter, usually two weeks.

3. There is another situation where the fetus dies in the womb and physical means are necessary to induce labor. This situation is not much different from natural childbirth, so if induced labor is performed in this situation, the lochia will be cleared in about three weeks and will not exceed one month.

Note: Lochia is a normal postpartum recovery. It does not need to be treated with medication and will heal naturally. Moreover, unless it is absolutely necessary, it is not recommended for pregnant women to undergo induced abortion. This not only causes great harm to their own bodies, but is also irresponsible and disrespectful to life.
