What causes pelvic effusion?

Pelvic effusion is actually the inflammatory exudate produced by pathogens in the pelvic cavity. The physiological one has no symptoms and does not have much impact on the body, while the pathological one can be manifested as an obvious feeling of abdominal heaviness that lasts for a long time, is more harmful, and grows slowly. At this time, it is not so easy to cure with conservative treatment. Introduce the causes of pelvic effusion in detail.

Symptoms of pelvic effusion include:

Pelvic effusion caused by acute or chronic pelvic inflammatory disease or adnexitis is often accompanied by lower abdominal pain (bilateral or unilateral), lumbosacral pain, low back pain, distending pain in the lower abdomen, pain in the waist, low back pain, etc., or aggravated by standing for a long time, overwork, sexual intercourse, or before menstruation, and in severe cases, it affects work. Or there may be lower abdominal pain, increased leucorrhea, menstrual disorders, heavy menstrual bleeding, dysmenorrhea, and sexual discomfort; the patient feels very uncomfortable and should immediately and actively seek treatment until the accumulated fluid is absorbed and dissipated.

Because the pelvic cavity is the lowest part of the abdominal cavity in the whole body, when there is exudate or transudate, it will be drained into the pelvic cavity, thus forming pelvic effusion. There are several main causes of pelvic effusion:

1. Infection after gynecological surgery: When female friends undergo some artificial surgery, IUD insertion surgery, hysterosalpingography, etc., if the disinfection during the operation is not very strict, it is easy to cause infection problems for women after the operation. And female friends must pay attention to personal hygiene during surgery to avoid infection.

2. Spread of inflammation in adjacent organs: Some female friends may suffer from appendicitis or peritoneal inflammation, and the female reproductive organs are nearby. If the inflammation is not treated in time, it can easily spread and eventually lead to inflammation in the female pelvic area. Some female friends suffer from chronic cervical inflammation. The inflammation will circulate blood through the lymph and eventually cause inflammation of the connective tissue in the female pelvic area.

3. Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation: When women have their period, the endometrium will fall off, so the blood sinuses inside the uterine cavity will be open and there will be coagulated blood clots, which is very suitable for the growth of bacteria.

4. Postpartum and post-abortion infection: After childbirth and artificial abortion, women’s bodies have suffered a lot of damage, so their bodies are very weak, and their body resistance and immunity are relatively low. At this time, the female cervix is also in a state of expansion. If you do not pay attention to personal hygiene at this time, all the bacteria in the vagina and cervix may continue to ascend and cause female pelvic infection.
