How long can vulvar leukoplakia live?

Vulvar leukoplakia is a relatively serious disease, but patients should not worry too much. Generally, it is not life-threatening. If epithelial hyperplasia occurs in vulvar leukoplakia, it may be a precursor to cancer, which is relatively dangerous. Therefore, for patients with vulvar leukoplakia, on the one hand, they should receive timely and good treatment, and on the other hand, they should also be aware of some precautions in daily life.

In traditional Chinese medicine, it is called yin moss, yin sore, yin erosion, and yin pain. In women, it is mostly caused by damp-heat in the liver meridian that invades the vulva, or by blood deficiency and liver hyperactivity, liver-kidney yin deficiency, kidney yang deficiency, etc., which prevent the essence and blood from nourishing the vulva. Clinical manifestations can be divided into two types of symptoms: deficiency and excess.

The so-called "deficiency" refers to the blood deficiency, which causes loss of volume and dryness, resulting in damage to the Chong and Ren meridians, and the genitals losing nourishment or warmth; the so-called "excess" is due to liver depression suppressing spleen earth, liver heat and spleen dampness, dampness and heat infiltrating each other, Chong and Ren meridians being damaged, resulting in the genitals being damp and hot, causing this disease. Clinically, deficiency syndrome is the main symptom, that is, excess syndrome is also caused by the invasion of evil into the deficiency. Therefore, no matter from the perspective of Western medicine or traditional Chinese medicine theory, vulvar leukoplakia is not contagious.
