What are the symptoms of adnexitis?

The occurrence of adnexitis can have a great impact on women's reproductive health, and may manifest as irregular menstruation, increased vaginal discharge, or abdominal pain. In severe cases, adnexitis may even cause infertility.

1. Irregular menstruation and increased leucorrhea. Irregular menstruation is often characterized by frequent menstruation and excessive menstrual flow, which may be the result of pelvic congestion and ovarian dysfunction. Increased vaginal discharge is just a side symptom, usually caused by endocrine system disorders and mental and nervous depression.

2. Among the symptoms of chronic adnexitis, abdominal pain often manifests as hidden discomfort, which is usually caused by soreness, swelling and falling in the lower back and sacrum. In addition, due to pelvic adhesions, bladder and rectal filling pain may occur.

3. Dysmenorrhea is caused by pelvic congestion and becomes stasis dysmenorrhea. Most of the time, abdominal pain begins one week before menstruation, and becomes more severe as the menstrual period approaches, until the menstruation comes.

4. Infertility occurs when the fallopian tube itself is damaged by lesions, forming adhesions and blockages, leading to infertility, with secondary infertility being more common. Even if conception is possible, the chances of tubal pregnancy occurring later in the course of adnexitis are higher.
