Can I have a baby with uterine fibroids?

For women with uterine fibroids, their fertility will be directly affected because uterine fibroids may compress the opening of the fallopian tubes and cause tubal obstruction infertility. However, it does not mean that they are absolutely infertile, so what should be paid attention to is scientific examination and treatment.

Whether fibroids will affect fertility depends on the location and size of the fibroids. The following situations may lead to infertility:

1. If the fibroids grow near the uterine horn , they can compress the opening of the fallopian tube and cause tubal obstruction infertility.

2. If the fibroids grow in the cervix , they may compress the cervical canal, block the passage or change the direction of the cervical opening, moving it away from the semen pool in the posterior fornix, which is not conducive to the entry of sperm into the cervical opening.

3. Submucosal fibroids grow in the uterine cavity , just like a spherical intrauterine device is placed in the uterine cavity, which hinders fertility. The endometrium on the surface of the uterine cavity is ischemic, necrotic, and atrophic, which is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg.

4. If the fibroids grow in the lumen of the ligament , the fallopian tube that benefits from its surface may be stretched and twisted, the lumen may be squeezed, affecting its patency, or the ovary may be displaced, the distance between the ovary and the fallopian tube may be widened, and the egg-collecting function of the fimbria of the fallopian tube may be impeded.

5. Uterine fibroids can cause the frequency, amplitude and duration of uterine contractions to be higher than the normal baseline, interfering with the implantation of the fertilized egg or causing miscarriage after implantation.

6. When fibroids are accompanied by endometrial hyperplasia , it means that the ovaries do not ovulate. The fibroids cause uterine bleeding, which can lead to infection and blockage of the fallopian tubes, all of which can cause infertility.

7. If the fibroids are large and deform the uterine cavity , it will affect the passage of sperm, the implantation of the fertilized egg and the development of the fetus.

If you are still not pregnant, it is recommended that you seek treatment as soon as possible. It is best to adopt conservative methods of traditional Chinese medicine. Currently, the treatment effect of TCM Baitong therapy on fibroids is quite significant. It can not only make the fibroids gradually soften, shrink or even disappear, but also reduce recurrence and improve fertility levels.
