Will women get cervical erosion if they don't have sex?

Cervical erosion is a common problem that affects women's reproductive health. Many people believe that only sexual life can cause cervical erosion. In fact, even if you do not have sexual life, if you do not pay attention to health and hygiene, you may also cause cervical erosion.

1. Women who do not have sexual life can also suffer from cervical erosion . Due to the barrier function of the hymen, it is difficult for bacteria to invade unmarried women, so cervical erosion rarely occurs, but the possibility of the disease cannot be ruled out. Cervical erosion can be divided into congenital erosion and acquired erosion. Clinically, even if unmarried women have been infected with bacteria, the chance of suffering from cervical erosion is very low. If unmarried women have increased vaginal discharge or changes in color, they should go to the hospital for examination in time to find out the cause. Clinically, about 10%-15% of unmarried women suffer from congenital cervical erosion, so unmarried women need to pay attention to personal hygiene and menstrual hygiene.

2. Married women are more prone to cervical erosion because, after having sexual intercourse, the vagina is in a relatively "open" state, which gives bacteria an opportunity to take advantage. But generally speaking, normal and hygienic sex life will not bring any harm to women, because normal semen has certain bactericidal and disinfecting effects, and the female vagina also has self-cleaning functions. However, if you do not pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene during sexual intercourse, bacteria will invade the vagina, which increases the possibility of women suffering from reproductive organ inflammation.

3. More importantly , married women may suffer varying degrees of cervical lacerations during childbirth or miscarriage. Although sometimes the laceration is very small and does not cause any symptoms at the time, it opens the door for bacteria to invade and cause cervical inflammation in the future. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, local secretions increase, and long-term immersion of the cervix in inflammatory secretions will cause erosion. In addition, some surgeries after marriage or diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, such as abortion, diagnostic curettage, cervical dilation, etc., may also cause cervical injury and inflammation.

4. Some women often use high-concentration disinfectant to flush the vagina, which has the opposite effect. It not only affects the growth of normal vaginal flora, but also reduces its ability to inhibit pathogenic bacteria. It can also cause varying degrees of cervical epithelial damage and eventually erosion.
