The reason why pregnant women urinate frequently is that the fetus is the main cause

When a woman is pregnant, various changes will occur in her body. Frequent urination is common. This brings a lot of trouble to pregnant women. They have to go to the bathroom many times every night, which affects their rest. Pregnant women don’t know much about this situation. So what are the reasons for frequent urination in pregnant women?

The reason for frequent urination in pregnant women is closely related to the changes in the women's body during pregnancy. Since the female uterus is located in the center of the pelvic cavity, the bladder is in front of it. The uterus can originally change its position with the fullness of the bladder. However, in the early stages of pregnancy, the uterus begins to grow, but has not yet risen into the abdominal cavity, so it occupies a larger position in the pelvic cavity, squeezing and irritating the bladder, thereby causing frequent urination.

In the late pregnancy, the fetus descends into the pelvic cavity and compresses the bladder again. The volume of the bladder decreases, which naturally increases the frequency of urination. Therefore, frequent urination in both the early and late pregnancy stages is a normal phenomenon. Under normal circumstances, the urge to urinate will only come when the bladder stores 400 ml of urine, and urination will only occur once every four hours. However, the pressure of the uterus will reduce the capacity of the bladder, and the urge to urinate will naturally come from time to time, and you cannot stop it.

However, it should also be noted that urinary tract infections can also cause frequent urination, often accompanied by urgency and pain. Expectant mothers with these conditions must not ignore them and should go to the hospital for treatment to be safe.

Generally speaking, frequent urination in pregnant women will stop a few days after delivery, but it will continue in the first few days after delivery because the excess fluid in the body needs to be discharged through urine, and the body will naturally return to normal after it is discharged. Throughout the pregnancy, frequent urination will be a problem in the early and late stages, but most of the time it is relatively normal, so expectant mothers don’t need to worry too much.
