What are the adverse effects of retroverted uterus?

The problem of retroverted uterus also needs women's attention, because although there are no obvious symptoms, if it is serious, it will cause excessive menstruation, excessive leucorrhea, lower abdominal pain, etc., and it will also affect women's conception.

1. Mild retroverted uterus is generally asymptomatic . Severe cases will cause pelvic congestion, menorrhagia, difficulty in menstrual discharge, excessive vaginal discharge, lower abdominal pain, back pain, anal swelling and other symptoms. Some women even experience pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse. Of course, the most serious symptom is infertility. Because the cervix is tilted forward, if the woman lies down during sexual intercourse, the cervix is not easily soaked by semen, which can affect conception.

2. The cause of retroverted uterus is often related to sleeping posture . Women who have had a miscarriage or sleep in their supine position for a long time are prone to retroverted uterus. If these women insist on sleeping in the prone position or the chest-knee side-lying position for a long time, the position of the uterus can be corrected. This method can be cured without special treatment, and the rectal irritation symptoms caused by the retroverted uterus can completely disappear.

3. The position of the uterus in the pelvic cavity can be anterior, median, or posterior, and can be tilted or flexed. Under normal circumstances, the position of the uterus is anteverted and anteflexed, that is, the uterine body tilts forward and the cervix moves backward and downward, making the uterine body anteflexed. Deep in the vagina, behind the cervix, there is a dome around the cervix, called the vaginal vault. Semen tends to accumulate here after ejaculation during sexual intercourse, allowing the cervical opening facing backward and downward to be immersed in the semen, making it easier for sperm to pass through the cervical opening into the uterine cavity to meet the egg and achieve conception. When the uterus is in a posterior position, the cervix is in a forward and upward position, and the cervical opening is not easily immersed in semen, so the chance of conception is significantly reduced.
