What to do with irregular menstruation and amenorrhea? How to treat irregular menstruation

There are many reasons for irregular menstruation and amenorrhea, such as disease factors, occlusion of the lower reproductive tract, incomplete or poorly developed reproductive organs, etc. We must find out the cause and prescribe the right medicine.

First, disease. Wasting diseases, such as severe pulmonary tuberculosis, severe anemia, malnutrition, etc.; unique endocrine diseases, such as "obesity reproductive incompetence malnutrition", etc.; the influence of some endocrine glands in the body, such as adrenal glands, thyroid gland, pancreas and other functional disorders. Due to the influence of these factors, menstruation often does not occur. For amenorrhea caused by any of these conditions, as long as the disease is cured, menstruation will return naturally.

Second, atresia of the lower reproductive tract. For example, if there is a congenital atresia in the cervix, vagina, hymen, labia, etc., or adhesion atresia caused by acquired damage, although menstruation occurs, the menstrual blood cannot flow out. This situation is called latent or pseudo-amenorrhea. Lower reproductive tract atresia can be completely cured with treatment by a doctor.

Third, the reproductive organs are incomplete or underdeveloped. Some people are born without ovaries, or their ovaries are underdeveloped, or their ovaries are damaged, and cannot produce estrogen and progesterone. Therefore, the endometrium cannot undergo cyclical changes, and there will be no endometrial shedding, so there will be no menstruation. Some women are born without a uterus, or have endometrial hypoplasia, or endometrial damage. Even if their ovaries are functioning well and the secretion of estrogen and progesterone is normal, they will not have menstruation.

What should I do if I have irregular menstruation or amenorrhea? Doctors remind: If you find that you have amenorrhea, you should go to the hospital in time, find out the cause, and treat it symptomatically, which will generally produce satisfactory results. Don't be afraid of illness and avoid seeing a doctor. Otherwise, the longer the amenorrhea lasts, the more the uterus will shrink and the worse the treatment effect will be.
