Diagnosis of ovarian tumors, these four examinations are essential

In recent years, the incidence of ovarian tumors has been increasing year by year, and the mortality rate has also remained high, seriously threatening women's life safety and physical health. This has attracted the attention of female friends. What tests can be used to diagnose ovarian tumors?

1. Basal body temperature measurement

Progesterone raises body temperature through the body temperature regulation center, causing the basal body temperature to show a biphasic pattern in the normal menstrual cycle. That is, the basal body temperature in the second half of the menstrual cycle rises by 0.4 to 0.6 degrees compared with the first half, indicating that the ovarian function includes ovulation and corpus luteum formation.

2. Cytological examination

Cytological examination is performed as vault puncture and ascites aspiration for cytological examination. During uterine cavity exploration or laparotomy, fluid can be aspirated from the rectouterine pouch at the same time. It has a high diagnostic accuracy rate for malignant tumors.

3. Radiological examination

Radiological diagnosis includes abdominal plain film, intravenous pyelography, barium swallow examination, lymphangiography, etc. to assist in diagnosis.

Ultrasound examination: Ultrasound examination is of great significance in the diagnosis of ovarian tumors. It can detect the location, size, shape and nature of the tumor, indicate whether the tumor is cystic or solid, benign or malignant, and distinguish it from other diseases.

4. Uterine cavity exploration

Uterine cavity exploration examination can directly see the general condition of the tumor, observe the entire pelvic and abdominal cavity, perform multiple biopsies at suspicious sites and absorb peritoneal fluid for cytological examination, which can confirm the diagnosis and postoperative monitoring.
