What should I do if oral ulcers recur? One look and you'll know

Oral ulcers are an extremely common phenomenon in life, and the dry season is the peak season for this phenomenon. They recur frequently, seriously affecting people's lives. So what should we do when oral ulcers recur repeatedly?

1. What are the causes of oral ulcers?

(1) Oral ulcers caused by excessive fatigue

(2) Digestive system diseases and functional disorders: such as abdominal distension, diarrhea or constipation.

(3) Endocrine changes: Some female patients often experience this during their menstrual period, which may be related to a decrease in the amount of estrogen in the body.

(4) People with irregular teeth or dentures are prone to frequent ulcers due to friction with the oral mucosa.

(5) Mental factors: Some patients develop the disease when they are under mental stress, mood swings, or have poor sleep, which may be related to autonomic dysfunction.

(6) Genetic factors: If both parents suffer from recurrent oral ulcers, their children will have an 80-90% chance of developing the disease. If one parent suffers from the disease, their children will have an approximately 50-60% chance of developing the disease.

(7) Other factors: Lack of trace elements such as zinc, iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12 can reduce immune function and increase the likelihood of recurrent oral ulcers.

2. What to do if oral ulcers recur?

1. Pay attention to oral hygiene, avoid damage to the oral mucosa, and avoid spicy food and local irritation.

2. Keep a good mood, be optimistic and cheerful, and avoid being anxious.

3. Ensure adequate sleep time and avoid excessive fatigue.

4. Regularly clean your teeth and have regular oral examinations to identify problems and cure them as soon as possible

5. Oral ulcers are also considered a sign of physical weakness, so you should increase exercise and improve your physical condition.

6. Eat at least 500g of vegetables and fruits every day to supplement the lack of vitamins!

7. Correct bad habits such as biting lips, cheeks, and tongue, remove remaining teeth, or replace inappropriate dentures.

8. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to cleanse the intestines and stomach, prevent constipation, and help the recovery of oral ulcers.
