33 weeks pregnant lower abdominal pain

Many women will go to the hospital for a physical examination immediately if they have lower abdominal pain at 33 weeks of pregnancy. Because 33 weeks of pregnancy has entered the delivery period, pregnant women will experience many uncomfortable symptoms, such as lower abdominal pain, pain, and difficulty sleeping. The fetus will also experience hypoxia, decreased fetal movement and other abnormalities at 33 weeks. Patients should observe their symptoms at any time to prevent the occurrence of labor symptoms. Therefore, many pregnant women will ask what is the reason for lower abdominal pain at 33 weeks of pregnancy?

The 33-week fetus is already full-term and may give birth at any time. It is normal for the patient to have lower abdominal pain at this time. Normal lower abdominal pain will be uterine contraction. The patient needs to observe the time of lower abdominal pain, so as to confirm true and false uterine contraction and make an accurate distinction. When the patient has regular and persistent pain, it is pathological uterine contraction and must be checked in the hospital. Such symptoms are precursor symptoms of labor. Sometimes, lower abdominal pain indicates false labor, and it will be some time before the pregnant woman gives birth.

In addition, pregnant women will also experience premonitory symptoms of labor, which can be used as a basis for diagnosing labor. The main signals are the following three:

1. Pregnant women feel relaxed in their abdomen. In the first 1-2 weeks of labor, primigravidas often feel more comfortable in the upper abdomen than before, breathe more happily, and have an increased appetite because the fetal presenting part descends into the pelvis and the bottom of the uterus shrinks. However, because the presenting part is lowered and compressed, the pelvic bladder, duodenum and other tissues often cause lower abdominal pain, frequent urination, and back pain.

2. False contractions. Pregnant women often experience irregular uterine contractions 1-2 weeks before delivery, which have the following characteristics compared to the uterine contractions before and after delivery: shorter duration, longer intervals, and irregularity. The intensity of uterine contractions does not increase, and uterine contractions only cause mild distension and pain and are limited to the lower abdomen. The cervical opening does not expand with them. A small amount of sedatives can suppress this "false contraction".

3. Spotting during pregnancy. 24-48 hours before delivery, some mucus mixed with blood will be discharged from the vagina, which is called pregnancy spotting. This is because the lower segment of the uterus and the cervix expand, the surrounding placenta and endometrium separate, the capillaries rupture and bleed, and the blood mixes with the mucus in the cervix to produce bloody mucous secretions, which is a more reliable sign of labor. If there is a lot of vaginal bleeding that exceeds the menstrual flow, it should not be considered a precursor to labor. Instead, you should consider whether there are exudative symptoms in late pregnancy, such as placenta previa, placental abruption, etc.

Women who are 33 weeks pregnant must pay attention to lower abdominal pain. Patients can analyze the symptoms of their pain to diagnose true or false uterine contractions. Pregnant women should immediately prepare for delivery, including mental preparations, the clothes and utensils to be worn during delivery, and also the items needed for the baby to be born, such as baby milk powder, bottles, clothes, diapers, etc., to avoid panic caused by sudden illness. Pregnant women should also adjust their mentality at this time and actively participate in physical exercise to help them with childbirth later.
